Exclusively Yours by Shannon Stacey

Exclusively Yours Exclusively Yours by Shannon Stacey is a book about old heartaches, the joy of having a family who will always be one step behind you, and how true love will always find a way back to you. I absolutely enjoyed reading this book! It was just the perfect contemporary romance read that I love to find in books and I thank NetGalley and Harlequin for granting me access to review it! This book was sexy, sweet, and just fun overall! I had a blast reading some of the comments that were made between Joe, Keri, his family, and most of all... Terry! There's an inside story where Keri and Terry used to be friends but something happened to them and they ended up bitter enemies. In the end, there were plenty of laughters and tears while reading this book. It's definitely something that all fans of contemporary romance will enjoy!

The romance between Joe Kowalski and Keri Daniels was both hilarious and cute. Twenty years have passed since Keri broke his heart... but there is still the same sexual tension in the air. Joe actually has hope that while on his bribe/family trip, Keri will somehow see the light and not leave him. I wasn't exactly sure if I could forgive Keri for breaking a guy's heart as sweet as Joe. Thank god she redeemed herself! There were also two other relationships that were briefly told in this book: Mike/Lisa and Terry/Evan.

For Mike and Lisa, their issue was that Lisa believed the only reason why Mike is still with her is because she was pregnant during their courtship. As for Terry and Evan, their marriage stems from the fact that Terry is always so controlling. At times during the book, I wanted to smack her for being so stubborn! They both love each other so she should try to change her attitude. Thankfully, everything was solved in the end! I was worried that Terry and Evan's relationship might not work out because she was just so heartbroken when he left her. It's definitely hard to gain someone's trust again after that.

Anyway! If you love romances where the hero and heroine are both funny, cute, and should just get together already?! This is the book for you! There were so many laugh out loud moments-- partly due to the Kowalski kids, the banter between Terry and Keri, and of course between Joe and Keri! You won't be disappointed at all!

Divergent by Veronica Roth

Divergent (Divergent #1)
“I might be in love with you." He smiles a little. "I'm waiting until I'm sure to tell you, though.”
Divergent by Veronica Roth is a captivating story about a young girl who ultimately has to decide whether she wants to stay with her family or leave them behind forever. Like The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins but entirely different, out heroine Tris Prior, lives in a dystopian world where a faction's society and value determines who you are. Tris ends up leaving her faction of Abengation and enters the world of the Dauntless; where danger, violence, betrayal, and even an unexpected love awaits her.

I absolutely love this book. It took me two days to finish it and I still want to read it again! Although I do admit that the world building was quite confusing at first and might need a bit of more info... for an author's first debut trilogy, this is a great example of what a Dystopian YA novel should be. There was plently of action and if you're a fan of The Hunger Games, you should check this little gem out! One of the things that I loved most about this book was the sweet and fragile romance between Four and Tris. They are perfect for one another in every way because despite what others may think, I believe that Four loves Tris for who she is-- nevermind the fact how swhe downgrades the way she looks and whatnot. Call me a romantic, but that's what I am.

Overall, I'm glad that Veronica Roth did not leave her readers and overbearing cliffhanger. I wouldn't be able to stand that, but still... she did leave us wanting more. And that's why Insurgent shall bring it all back with a bang! Seriously, this was a great book. I don't even know why it took me so long to even read it... but hey. I did in the end and that's all that matter!

Never a Gentleman by Eileen Dreyer

Never a Gentleman You would think that after having your heart being ripped out from you (this is figuratively by the way) repeatedly, there would not be a single trace of love left inside any longer, right? I admit that this book was brought to my attention by the numerous amount of negative reviews and its somewhat controversial plot. Yes, I did understand why Diccan did what he did... but I condemn him for the way he enacted it. My heart constantly broke for Grace because throughout their entire marrigage of convenience, Diccan never gave her the time of day whatsoever. And yet... she still tried so hard to please him and make their marriage a real one. Without realizing it, she ends up falling in love with the one man who can never love her for who she is.

Oh dear, this book tore my heart out into little pieces and placed it back all together again in the end. Never a Gentleman is definitely not to everyone's taste... but if you take a look deeper into Diccan's character, you'll realize that he is also hurting as well. From there, I think you can sort of justify his actions and see why he did what he did to protect Grace. But man, the infamous scene where Grace sees Diccan making love with his mistress was just so... sad, horrifying, and heartbreaking. As if his treatment to her at their manor wasn't enough! Sure, the author described Grace as this strong woman who can supposedly take on anything that is thrown her way. But really? Even the strongest people fall. Love tends to turn the bravest of hearts into cowards and ultimately, Grace became one of its victim.

One of the things that I'm actually glad Eileen Dreyer provided was that readers also get a sense of what was going on in Diccan's mind. While their marriage was one of convenience, he slowly starts falling in love with Grace and sees her for her true nature. It took a near-death experience for him to realize it though! Overall, I really love the whole premise of this book and its characters. I hated the Diccan in the beginning and ended up falling in love with him towards the end... that's really something, you know? The ending was absolutely beautiful because it was just the ending that Grace deserves! I am definitely looking forward to Kate's book with Henry, her childhood friend and supposed nemesis that she betrayed. I'm assuming that they had some sort of relationship before and something happened.

Anyway, great book that's full of heart, tears, and joy. You won't regret reading this book!

Until There Was You by Kristan Higgins

Until There Was You (Hqn) I'm going to write a review just because I want to escape the horridness that is Accounting! Anyway, Until There Was You is Kristan Higgan's latest contemporary romance novel. This book... was quite different yet the entire feel and setting is totally the same. I didn't love it as much as her previous book, My One and Only, but it was really sweet and the hero is to die for! I mean who can resist a bad boy turn good named Liam Murphy? Our heroine, Posey Osterhagen, is probably one of the dorkiest and cutest that I've read from Higgans' books so far. See? They're already a match in heaven...?! Kidding aside, these two used to be the total opposites of one another. And when Liam finally realizes that he loves Posey? It's a must read for sure. And thank you NetGalley, for granting me this lovely arc when I was in the mood for a sweet story with a lovely yet cheesy ending!

Posey Osterhagen is our heroine of the story. She's your every day gal, right? Except for that fact that she's not the most beautiful girl in town, kind of plain, short, and she's actually adopted. The story starts out with her telling readers that she's used to be in love with this boy who ultimately broke her heart and never even realized it. Yes, it's another of those 'second chances at love' kind of stories and I love it. If you look at it from Posey's sixteen years old point of view... her love was tragic. The boy that she'd been crushing on was the 'God/Bad Boy' of the town, Liam Murphy, and he ended up falling in love with the town's 'Little Miss Sunshine/Good Girl' and they ended up happily ever after, right? Nope, I guess not since he's back! But it's actually more than that and we'll get to find out the real reason later on!

Liam Murphy is our hero and to be honest, I think he's the sexiest hero yet. He's a bad boy turned good due to the magical entity called 'love.' And yet, he's back in town as a widower/father to a teenager named Nichole. The moments when he tries to intefere with his daughter's social life were so hilarious! But anyway, he's back... and now it's time to face his past and live up some memories. Liam had never really thought much about Posey. She was the girl who used to crush on him... so when they meet again, he didn't exactly have any good old memories to recall with her. Well of course, until he starts noticing her lips. That changed the ball game entirely, don't you think? The side characters were all pretty amazing. I loved Jon, Posey's brother in law. Sidenote: Posey only has a brother and he's adopted as well. So brother-in-law? Haha! YES! Her brother Henry is gay and Jon and him have been married for 10 years. They're relationship is super cute and sometimes, the town tries to convert those two back to being straight.

Overall, this book was truly a stress reliever to my school days. It was cute, the characters had great depth-- even though I do have to admit that I didn't exactly feel Posey and Liam's chemistry together was that high. It was still a very good book and as always, I'm looking forward to Kristan Higgins' next book!

Silk Is for Seduction by Loretta Chase

Silk Is for Seduction (The Dressmakers, #1) I'm not sure about you, but I adored Silk Is for Seduction. Some of you may think that the hero, Clevedon is cheating on his intended fiancee, Clara... but I don't think so. It was kind of obvious that all they ever felt for one another was brotherly and sisterly friendship. This book had everything that I ever wanted in a historical romance novel: a witty and awesome heroine, a romance full of heart, and lots of bickering between Marcelline and Clevedon! At first, I thought that this romance was doomed between them because of their class differences and the fact that he was going to marry someone else in a couple of months... but, soon Clevedon begins to fall in love with Noirot without even realizing it! He's captivated by her appearance and personality to the point where he eventually stalks follows her back to London. Their chemistry is truly top-notch and there were some moments in the book where it broke my heart.

Besides that, I also thoroughly enjoyed the side characters: Longmore, Sophia, Leonie, and of course... Lucy! Marcelline's cute and six year old daughter. I'm betting that the next book in this series will be about Sophia and Longmore (Lady Clara's brother)! They did meet in this book and it was quite hilarious how it came about. I bet he's already infactuated/intrigued by her at this point. Anyway, I loved this book because even though Clevedon knew about Marcelline's background, he still loved her nonetheless. That's true love, I tell ya! Overall, it was a wonderful romance that deserves no less than 5/5 stars.

The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa

The Iron Knight (Iron Fey, #4) Dear Julie Kagawa, thank you for writing this series and thank you for making it one that will forever be close to my heart. I have and will always support you 100% when it comes to your books and The Iron Knight is definitely no exception! It rocked my world and now that it's over... I'm really sad to see it end. At least in my mind, I'll know that Meghan, Ash, and Puck are out there somewhere living their happy ever after. This book was the perfect conclusion to a 'faery' tale love story and I adore Ash even more after reading it. Truly, I am sincerely thankful to Netgalley for letting me reading this arc! God, I'm feeling sentimental already.

In this latest installment of the Iron Fey series, Ash and his companions: Puck, Grim, someone who I can't tell you because that will be a big spoiler!!!, and the Big Bad Wolf. Remember him from Winter's Passage? It's a crazy adventure to begin with because this book takes us far beyond the world of the NeverNever and into the Deep Wyld and finally, The End of the World in order for him to obtain a soul. It's so heartbreaking to see how even though Ash thoroughly loves Meghan, he is stuck between two choices... and he has to end up with one final sacrifice in the end.

I was extremely fascinated by the town of Phaed in the Deep Wyld, where faeries and creatures who are no longer remembered and are essentially 'Forgotten.' With Puck as the comic relief, it's an understatement to say that this book did not make me laugh. I love Puck... and I really wanted him to obtain his own happy ending. I was kind of confused with the last bit of the epilogue, but after reading it again? I get it and I'm super happy with the ending result!

And even though Meghan didn't exactly appear much in The Iron Knight, her presence is always there. The reason to Ash's entire resolve to gain a soul is ultimately because of Meghan... and I was almost left with no hope for them when Ash took his final test. Living a life as a human and growing old... while Meghan (and their son!!!! I totally died at this point) lives on forever and never age. How tragic is that?! But oh no, this is when Julie Kagawa pulls her last twist in the book and it totally surprised and delighted me. So overall, if you have been with this series all the way from the beginning, you will definitely love this book! Hey, you'll know when a book is that good whenever you think about it and you smile.

Changing the Game by Jaci Burton

Changing the Game (Play by Play, #2) If I were to compare The Perfect Play versus Jaci Burton's latest installment, Changing the Game... in my opinion of course, I would say I liked Gavin's story with Liz a lot more than Mick and Tara's. Looking back, I felt as if Mick fell in love with Tara way too fast? So it was kind of unrealistic. While at least Liz and Gavin both went into this "thing" between them knowing that it was just a fling and something fun. Or was it really? I guess I have a thing for unrequited love and Liz's love for Gavin was just so heartbreaking. Gavin himself is pretty dense for not noticing it but it was just so sad to know that Liz didn't want to lose herself to him when she already lost her heart. There was just so much emotion and seriously, the chemistry between these two was off the charts! I was really anticipating as to how their relationship would all work out when the situation seemed hopeless... but thankfully! Everything turned out to be much more than I had hoped for. ;) With all that said, I'm extremely looking forward to Jenna and Ty's book, Taking a Shot. We get a little sneak peek of their chemistry together and heh, it seems like we'll get another gem in store for us next year.

Liz was an interesting character to begin with and I loved seeing the layers of her real personality begin to crumble when she finally enters in a relationship with Gavin. Personally, after what she did to Tara and Nathan in the first book, I thought that I wouldn't come to like her because of her manipulating and cold personality... but of course, that was just a facade. Her childhood was pretty sad to begin with and I can understand why she became the person that she is today. I also came to love how strong and independent she was; it was about time Gavin fell in love with her! I did not have much of an impression of Gavin in the first book because he was often overshadowed by Mick... and it was quite apparent in this book when Mick decided to interfere in Gavin's relationship with Liz. Why are you such an ass, Mick? At least he apologized... but he almost ruined their relationship! Well anyway, Gavin went into this fling with Liz because he thought it was just that. He never intended to fall in love with her, but sometimess, you can't help deny your feelings when it comes suddenly unexpected.

I loved how Liz and Gavin's relationship was just so sweet and cute yet so hot at the same time. They had amazing chemistry together and Gavin can be so tender at times! He often thought about her and kept missing her whenever she had to go away for a business meeting and... *Sigh* That's when you know when you've fallen in love with someone. But sadly, the conflict in this book totally lies on Mick's constant interference and douche baggery personality when he thought he was doing Gavin a favor. I mean really, who asked for your opinion Mick? Did Gavin interfere in your relationship with Tara? I think not! I also didn't like how Gavin handled the part when Liz told him that she loves him. He pretty much questioned her if she said that to all her clients. Gah! Overall, great book and I really had an amazing time reading it! It definitely did not disappoint. 5/5 stars!

Ready for Love by Marie Force

Ready for Love (The McCarthys of Gansett Island) It's sad how the further I get into this series, the more irritating the characters become to me. Don't get me wrong, I liked this latest installment of the McCarthys of Gansett Island series... but Luke and Sydney just lacked the special spark to me. Sure, they had plenty of scenes together and if you add in their past relationship that they had, it would seem like a good romance right? Well, I think my problem with Sydney was because of the fact that she left Luke heartbroken all those years ago and married someone else without telling him, WHILE he believed that their relationship was still going on. I mean, what the heck was up with that? And I guess my problem with Luke is that he didn't do anything to stop that. He just... left it hanging, I guess? Pining away for her for years until she came back to the island to "start a new life" after her husband and kids died in a car crash.

I don't think I even truly got to know Luke or Sydney's character throughout the entire book. The minute that she arrived on the island, Luke started "stalking" her for a couple of months until she finally blew his cover. And throughout the entire novel, she was often reluctant to even admit her relationship with Luke. Always stating that she was not ready for a relationship. I mean I get the fact that she felt guilty for having a relationship ever since her family died but... she sort of lead Luke on? Oh well. Overall, I liked this one but it wasn't my favorite. I looked forward to Grant's book in the next installment of this series! His story actually seems very... interesting. 4/5 stars!

A Lady's Lesson in Scandal by Meredith Duran

A Lady's Lesson in Scandal I've always had a soft spot for Cinderella-esque types of stories and Meredith Duran's latest installment is just that! We have our heroine from the East End of London, Nell, and our hero who is a peer from the ton, Simon. You ask how they're supposed to be connected to each other? Well, Nell hapens to be the lost/missing daughter of Lord Rushden, Lady Cornelia. And Simon happens to be their heir to Rushden's title... What a small world huh! The story starts out pretty slow, but it soon picks up when Nell's "fake" mother dies and she decides to go for revenge against Rushden. Little did she know that her father had already passed away and the current Lord Rushden is actually Simon.

I absolutely love this book and the characters that are in it! Simon and Nell are perfect for one another and their chemistry was just wonderful. Nell was extremely wary of Simon in the beginning and believed that he was crazy! There was plot, romance, a pretty nasty villain, and last but not least, and very satisfying conclusion to it all! What more can you want? Simon and Nell's relationship was very real and there was no doubt that they both really love one another. I hated the villain but thankfully, he got the ending that he deserved. Overall, this book is definitely a keeper and if you're ever in the lookout for a mistaken identity, Cinderella type of book where a poor girl meets an earl kind of book.... than this is the one for you. 5/5 stars!

Lessons in Indiscretion by Karen Erickson

Lessons in Indiscretion For a very quick book, I actually enjoyed this one very much. The chemistry between Garrett and Julia was hot! Although one small complaint about this book would be that it way too short! If only the author had lengthen the story and gave the couple the development that they deserved, it could have been a great historical/erotica romance novel. It's not to say that i did not "love" this book. I really liked it and Julie kind of broke my heart too because she firmly believed that she wasn't good enough for Garrett. Their romance was actually hard to believe at first... but I had to give credit to Julia/Garrett for the fact that she had known him since he was 14 years old. They had time for their relationship to grow? I'm not sure, but either way, it worked. Even if she was five years older than him.

Anywho, very intriguing quick read and I would actually be interested in reading more from this author. The scenes between the hero and heroine was extremely well-done and I loved the sensuality of it. Not to mention that Garrett talks pretty dirty... for someone from the peer. Overall, 4/5 stars!

Unlocked by Courtney Milan

Unlocked (Turner, #1.5) What a breathtaking and beautiful love story between two people who have been through so much pain just because of one stupid mistake made by a young Evan, the Earl of Westfeld. For ten long years, Lady Elaine has been the laughing stock of the ton due to the cruel remarks made by Evan and his cousin, Diana, Lady Cosgrove. It not only destroyed her self-confidence but also the love that could have been as well. The reason why this whole scenario is just so heartbreaking is because there was a reason behind Evan's cruel remarks. He believed that as long as she noticed him and remembered who he was, Elaine would eventually reciprocate his feelings for her. It was a love gone wroung... because instead of what he had planned to have happened, he caused Elaine many years of unhappiness and unforgiveness towards him.

Wow! What a great book by Courtney Milan. I absolutely adore both Evan and Elaine because he has truly regretted what he did to her all those years before. After ten years of "escaping" the mess that he had created, he returns to find that everything has changed... and some things have not. It was really hard to forgive Evan/Westfeld, but he eventually became my favorite character. I hated Diana/Lady Cosgrove because while Evan was gone, she made Elaine's life as well as her mother's miserable. Nine months later, Elaine and Evan ended up as friends. And within these last nine months? Elaine is slowly falling inn love with Evan without even realizing it. There is no question whether or not Evan loves her because he really does. He loves her and that makes it all the more sad. Elaine has never truly trusted him because of what he did to her back then. Aah, what a wonderful love story right?! The ending was spectacular and it was very well deserved!

If you're looking for a love story of heartbreak, regrets, and forgiveness... look for further! This is the book for you. Courtney Milan has done it again and I can't wait for her next book, Unclaimed. Overall, this little gem is definitely a 5/5 stars from me.

Bad Girl By Night by Lacey Alexander

Bad Girl By Night (H.O.T. Cops, #1) Holy smoked tamales! This book defines the words hot, sexy, and just "delicious" wrapped up in one awesome package. I truly had a fun time reading this book and I'm pretty sure those who have read it did so as well! You'll love it if you're a fan of Toni Blake, that's for sure. I adore Carly Winters and I really liked Jake Lockhart... until he made that idiotic move by breaking up with Carly. I still don't get his reason! Anyway, if you're looking for a small-town sexy and sweet erotica/contemporary romance book, this is the one for you!

The romance between Carly and Jake pretty much started out with a bang, literally. In all seriousness, Carly has been living two lives; one as herself and the other as Desiree, who is both sexy and confident-- something Carly is not. Everything changes when she finds out that the man that she had a one night stand and menage with... was no other but Jake! On the other hand, Jake is shocked to see "Desiree" in an entirely different attitude and outfit in this small town that he just moved into. Her name is in fact not Desiree... but Carly?! Wow, what a shocker huh. Well, they both start pretty rock because Carly always avoids him because she thinks that he will blurt out her secret to the entire town. Fortunately, that turned out to be untrue and their attraction for one another is undeniable.

And while everything may 'seem' perfect, it was in fact not. Jake and Carly have both had a pretty rough and bad childhood. One of which is Carly being molested by her father and messing up her entire sexual-adult life and the other is Jake being molested by a violator when he was a child as well. Overall? I thought this was definitely an extremely satisfying with some very hot scenes between Jake and Carly. They were meant for one another! I definitely recommend this book to everyone who loves this genre. 5/5 stars!

Tender Mercies by Kitty Thomas

Tender Mercies I was truly reluctant to read this book because of all the things that I've heard beforehand about this author. I was prety much forced to read this book because I was loaning it and it was going to expire soon. Oh well, it was still a fascinating yet horrifying read. I mean really, what kind of idiot was Grace? No offense to her. Was she really stupid enough to sign away her rights as a person and into a slave for this monster? For eight months, she'd endured his pain, torture, and rape... I wanted to kill that bastard for what he did to her. It's like kidnapping, ugh. Oh god, and even though Asher was a lot better than Lucas, I still wanted to hit him. LOL! And this is why I am not exactly a fan of BDSM.

The premise of the story was pretty amusing yet interesting all wrapped up in one package. I mean, it's an island with rich kinky men who get slaves. Would I want to go on it? Hell no! Grace was tricked into getting on that island... and while I may say that she was stupid in doing so, I can't really blame her. I just hate the fact that she had no rights and her "master" could do anything to her except kill her? I also hated how Asher used the words slut and whore to Grace? Yes, I get offended easily. But Grace claims that it was used in an affectionate way... so I don't even know. At least he was nice and kind to her! Unlike that bastard Lucas who abused and violated her in the most disgusting of ways.

Overall, for my first book by Kitty Thomas, I am pretty impressed. She delved into some serious issues and while I wanted to vomit just thinking about it, I do have to give her some mad props. Well done, Ms. Thomas! 4/5 stars.

Heist Society by Ally Carter

Heist Society Oddly, I liked this book yet it also bored me to tears. It appears that the only thing that I was interested in was the relationship between Kat and Hale. I mean, what is with them?! It seems like they both have feelings for one another... but neither of them acknowledges it. It's a pretty interesting relationship because Hale admits that he does all of these things "for her." The reason is always Kat. And Kat always gets nervous and her heart starts beating pretty fast when he's around. Yeah, they totally have the hots for each other.

The plot itself was pretty predictable... but it was interesting to see a bunch of kids try to hack into a high-security art gallery and steal back the paintings that was previously stolen. The supporting characters was also a nice touch to the story: For example Kat's cousin Gabrielle, Angus and Hamish the childhood friends, Simon the genius, and last but not least, Hale the mysterious and handsome friend as well as the other counterpart to Kat!

Overall, it was a pretty fun read and I truly enjoyed it! I'm not sure if I'll read the sequel to this since it would have to depend if there's going to be more Kat/Hale... but, we'll see. 4/5 stars!

Fool for Love by Marie Force

Fool for Love I have always enjoyed every one of Ms. Marie Force's books but this one... oddly, was not my favorite. Don't get me wrong, I adored the hero but the heroine gave me some serious twitches in my eye. I mean I liked the story but I'm not exactly a fan of falling in love at first sight. I still have a hard time believing how Janey can just fall in love with Joe in a matter of days. Well, we all know that Joe has always loved Janey since forever. If she's in any trouble in any kind of way, he will be there for her. He's just that kind of guy. Things start going into his favor when Janey catches her fiance in the act of having sex with another gal. Uh oh! Busted. Janey calls Joe in a state of distress and because he was the only person available... and they end up making love. Bad move, guys.

Oh, I am not a fan of that scenario. I mean, Joe repeatedly told Janey that they shouldn't do it... but that woman is damn stubborn and Joe is helpless against her. He believes that if they do this, then at least he will be able to keep this memory of them having gone this far forever. Aww! I truly think that Janey was very undeserving of Joe because she kept hurting him over and over without even realizing it. She kept asking questions like, am I really in love with him or is this because I just got out of a really long relationship and I need someone. Ugh, make up your mind already woman! Anyway, at least I enjoyed this book right? It was pretty steamy and Janey... was insatiable. 4/5 stars for this one!

A Kiss for Luck by Kele Moon

A Kiss for Luck I actually read book when I woke up this morning and oh my god was a fabulous hot read. I've read Kele Moon's earilier work, Beyond Eden and I loved it to pieces. This gem was no exception! Even if it was short, I still adore it because wow, Clara and Jackson's love scenes were very sexy. If you love stories where the H/h start as best friend but turn into lovers, then this is the book for you. I enjoyed this A Kiss for Luck very much and I wouldn't mind reading it again!

Can I just say the hero is one fine piece of hunk and that Clara is very lucky that he loves her?! Jackson has always been in love with Clara ever since he met her back in high school. When she married her asshole of a husband named Frank, Jackson was left with a broken heart and his friendship with Clara was almost ruined. Years later, our heroine Clara catches her husband committing adultery in bed with some bimbo chick and that was the end of that. The story starts out on New Years Eve where we learn that because Clara is filing for divorce, she's staying at Jackson's apartment for the time being. She finds out that Jackson might be home late due to his job as a firefighter and a paramedic and tells him that she'll be fine. But of course, things don't always go as plan huh?

When Clara goes back to Jackson's apartment, she takes a bath and ends up drinking until unexpectedly, Jackson comes home. Busted! I do believe that this is where Clara unexpectedly kisses Jackson (it's a chaste kiss, mind you)-- which of course catches him by the surprise. Let's just say... everything starts from there and the night will only get hotter. I just wish this was longer, but oh well. We can't always have what we want! Overall, this was another great one by Kele Moon; 5/5 stars.

Sweet as Sin by Inez Kelley

Sweet as Sin If you're looking for a book that will tear at your heartstrings due to the heartache that the H/h will conflict onto you... than you should definitely be reading Sweet as Sin. The cover and let alone the title may mislead you into thinking that this book is just another simple erotica romance.... but you're wrong. It was so much more. Another point to this lovely book is that if you're into tortured hero and a pretty strong heroine, this book embodies all of those qualities. This was actually my first read by author, Inez Kelley and I'm seriously glad that I ordered her other book Jinxed awhile back! ;) Now let's talk about John and Livvy, shall we?

Like every reviewer and reader, I was fooled into thinking that this book was another simple, easy, and sexy read. And boy, was I not disappointed. The book did start out pretty slow... but things start picking up when Livvy decides to agree to John's offer of a 'summer fling.' Soon, she not only falls hard for him but John eventually comes to realize that he loves Livvy and that she is also important to his very soul. Oh, and when they finally made love? It was very sensual and I'm glad they didn't rush into it. One of my favorite scene happened towards the end when Livvy decided to fulfill one of John's fantasy and whoo, what happened after that!

Our heroine, Livvy Andrews happens to be a pastry chef with her own store called The Sugar Shack. Her life gets turned upside down, in a good way, when John comes into town and moves right next to her house. Right from the very start, when Livvy and John meet, there was a sexual tension in the air that neither of them could deny. John Murphy is a famous author who writes tales about the monsters that resides in his very soul. It's really interesting to read about how Jodi and Thorn (the two main monsters in his book) resemble his personality and sides. The climax of the story probably happened when John realizes that he loves her... and decides to end their relationship along with it. And this my fellow readers, is when John excruciatingly breaks Livvy's heart to pieces. The way he broke her heart was just so cruel and hurtful that I was seriously wondering how this book was going to end when I was 90% finished.

Thankfully, the author gave this book a ververy satisfying ending that I really liked. I wanted an epilogue of these two together... but the story between Jodi, Thorn (they're both John), and Vory (who is actually Livvy in his book) was just as sweet! In the end, they're all bounded together through blood and I think that was the best symbol of their relationship. Overall, 5/5 stars!!

Eye of the Beholder by Emma Jay

Eye of the Beholder Meh. This short read was a pretty decent historical romance at best. There wasn't much to the story since it was so short... but you kind of get the gist of the storyline and the characters in it. Grayson Adams happens to have two lives where he's an erotic painter by day and an "esteemed" gentleman/younger son of a baron by night. The heroine Sarah Dusenberry is your 'typical' lady, who is almost towards the age of spinsterhood, and is not exactly drop dead gorgeous. Well, the hero sure thinks so though. I had some trouble with her because some of the moves that Sarah made were so... stupid. There were a couple of moments in the book where I wanted to hit my head against the wall because of her stupidity. I don't really have much to say about the hero either because he was so... flat? Grayson's character development didn't call out to me at all. He pretty much just wanted to get into Sarah's pants-- to put it bluntly, lol.

Oh and the romance. It felt like their relationship was built upon lust? Usually I would have no problem for that, but I tend to judge pretty high when it comes to historical romances. If Sarah was truly an innocent, why the heck would she pose nude for some stranger? What the! That is just waaaay off. I guess, just because she believes that no one will marry her, it's "okay" to do that. *Sigh* I don't know, but this one just didn't work out for me. I mean, it was okay for a nice quick read but I was also pretty disappointed as well. Overall, 3/5 stars.

Loving the Beast by Naima Simone

Loving the Beast (Fairy Tales Unleashed) Loving the Beast was actually my first e-book that I bought using my Kindle and to be honest? This book was definitely worth the buy! I guess it's fairly new but the scenes between the hero and heroine was deliciously sweet and hot! Plus, if you're into stories or quick reads with a fairy tale twist, then this is the book for you. The story starts out with our heroine, Gwen who's at a party solely for the purpose of finding Xavier. As for the reason why, you can pretty much guess from the summary-- she needs him to donate money to the community center that they had both met in. In my opinion, it was a pretty low move from him in order blackmail Gwen into having sex with him. Of course, Gwen is shocked to hear this because of their friendship for all these years! Well, yes she's been secretly in love with him for years and he was in love with her as well... But.

Due to some difficult circumstances, for example Gwen being engaged to his younger brother, Josh. *coughs* They were not able to be together. Well, he gives the bargain and she reluctantly accepts... I actually thought that Xavier would have been a pretty interesting if the author had fleshed him out more into detail, but I'm happy with what I got. Like the Beast, he is physically and emotionally scarred due to his father who he admired's death in the car crash and the result of catching his fiancee in the act of cheating on him. Some tough luck, huh! But like Belle, Gwen eventually heals Xavier's heart through her love for him. It was actually kind of sweet!

Hmm, now let's talk about the scorching hot scenes between the two. I mean, wow. Naima Simone does a pretty great job capturing the sensuality and intensity of their love scenes. I really liked the build-up from havin them gradually start out as being friends and into lovers. I truly enjoyed this little hot read and I am definitely looking forward to reading more from this author! 5/5 stars.

Nearly a Lady by Alissa Johnson

Nearly a Lady I had so many emotions while reading this Nearly a Lady by Alissa Johnson. First, it started out as sweetness because I adore the friendship between Winnefred and Gideon. It was so cute and they were meant to be together from the very start. Then, there was heartbreak because while these two are friends, they're also unconsciously falling in love with each other... and Gideon refuses to let that happen. And finally, peacefulness because the ending was worth all of the rollercoaster of emotions that any reader while reading this book will encounter. It's just the perfect book to bring you back to the historical romance genre for anyone who's having a difficult time going back.

I'm pretty sure you get of the gist of the plot from the summary so I will skip that and go right into the characters. Lord Gideon Haverston is one heck of a tortured hero. Every time we get to peek inside his mind and emotions, I always feel like crying because while he wants to court Winnefred and give her whatever she wants... he also tells himself that he can never have her. There were many times in the book where I wanted to tell him to just go for it and move on from his guilt. But even though Gideon is classified as a tortured hero, his entire personality consists of being cheerful and very humorous. It's definitely a nice change of heroes from other romance novels! It's so heartbreaking because of the circumstances that his stepmother had put Winnefred in, he constantly wants to spoil her and buy things for her. The fact that he tries so hard to detach himself from her yet he can't help but be near her is so sad. It's a contradiction in itself and as a result, he's torturing himself.

Winnefred Blythe is pretty much the other half to Gideon. Their romance was just so touching because while being a wonderful and kickass heroine, she also has insecurities of her own. For example, not being good enough as in terms of being a 'lady' and disappointing her best friend, Lilly. I loved her character because she never gives up in whatever she wants and it's just that kind of determination that will eventually win Gideon's heart! And thankfully, he realizes his error in the end or he would have lost her forever. Oh! I forgot to mention that there was also a secondary romance to this book? It's actually Winnefred's best friend, Lilly and Gideon's brother, Lord Engsly. The author doesn't go much into detail about these two... except for the fact that they had a past together. Overall, I totally loved this book and it's definitely something that all romance lovers shouldn't miss out on! 5/5 stars!

The Sweetest Thing by Jill Shalvis

The Sweetest Thing (Lucky Harbor, #2) Oh my god! And I thought that Jax Cullen from Simply Irresistible was hot. Ford Walker pretty much redefines sexy and sin all wrapped up in one gorgeous package. Whoo, Tara is one lucky woman! *wink* I thought that I loved the first book... but really, I think I loved both of them as a series overall. Tara and Ford's relationship was so deep, heartbreaking, sweet, and very hot. I mean, woah. Ford definitely knows how to stir up a woman, LOL. I can't wait to read Chloe's story with Sawyer later on this year though. I'm pretty sure that Jill Shalvis will hit it out of the ball park as always~ If you're looking for a contemporary with plenty of steam, an awesome story and a cast of amazing characters to boot, you should really check out this wonderful gem. Heck, I did and I haven't regretted it since!

Let's talk about Tara and Ford. Well, let's just say that their relationship had plenty of misunderstandings and cowardice on Tara's part and reluctance on Ford's. She has always blamed Ford for not chasing after her even though Ford's entire reason for not doing so was because he wanted what 'she thought' was best for her. For 17 long years, Tara never went back or even called him. Thankfully! She actually did go bacl to Lucky Harbot and their love begins again. With the help of their daughter--- WHAT DID I SAY? Hah! You're right. That's another of those fun twists in this book. I found it amusing that at first, Tara wanted a relationship without strings. The success factor for that? None. Tara is literally 'weak' when it comes to Ford. Their get together was steam and very hot though! But of course, there has to be conflict in any romace... and this one is no different. Lot's of 'LOL' moments in this book folks! In comes Logan, Tara's ex-husband to stir up the pot of jealousy. Ford gets jealous and these two men pretty much act like little boys fighting for their woman.

Oh! My favorite moment has to be when Tara told Logan and Ford to get her some apples from the apple tree in the front yard... and they end up competing on who will get the most apples! Logan eventually knocks Ford off his branch using an apple and Ford ends up with a broken leg and Logan a bee sting in which he has an allergic reaction to. The town's Facebook status comes up as: "Tara nearly kills both of her men!" Hilarious!

Anyway, to sum up this review, I loved it even though Ford and Tara pretty much went at it like rabits. Haha! I can't wait for the wild Chloe and stern Sawyer's book in November. ;) 5/5 stars.

Simply Irresistible by Jill Shalvis

Simply Irresistible (Lucky Harbor, #1) Oh man, if you're looking for a book that will definitely be tugging your heartstrings, look no further. Simply Irresistable is that book! With an irresistable and sexy hero name Jax and a clumsy, soft-spoken, and adorable heroine... I totally fell in love with this book and its characters. The book simply captured me from the very first page and I was dying to see the ending result of Jax and Maddie's relationship. Let's just say that the ending was definitely what I was looking for! *wink* For a contemporary romance novel, Jill Shalvis seriously knows how to pack a punch in the steam department. I mean, wowza. Every touch and moment between the H/hr was to die for and very hot! I can not wait for Tara and Ford's book, The Sweetest Thing, heh.

The first book to this series is Maddie Moore's story of finally finding a family in her sisters who she cares and loves for... as well as meeting the love of her life in this little town called Lucky Harbor, Washington. After losing her job and finally breaking up with her ex-boyfriend, Maddie decides to start a new beginning in this town and meet up with her two step-siblings to inherit the inn that her mother, Phoebe Traeger, left behind. Too bad the inn happens to be in a terrible state and in serious need of repairs! This will certainly be a challenge when her half siblings don't even want to stay or have anything to do with this inn...

As for Jax and Maddie's first meeting, let's just say that the first time they actually had a conversation with one another, was when she almost ran over him while driving her car! How adorable. In my opinion, their relationship was so real and sweet... and I definitely understand that Maddie was going through. After getting out of a horrible relationship, she needed time before heading into another relationship. Except well, we all know that from the very start, she was doomed when she met Jax. For a small town like Lucky Harbor, he's practically everywhere she goes! Not to mention that he also happens to be the town's mayor? Whoo! Anyway, while going for a walk in town, she ends up meeting Jax again in front of a bar called Love Shack, hah! To make things short, they decided to walk around and Maddie eventually lands a kiss from him. ;)

I loved their relationship. I mean, Jax was sweet, sexy, and very loving towards Maddie. Heck! He was the first one to fall and tell her that he loves her. While Maddie... she did have some TSTL moments, but she eventually saw the light. You can't exactly blame her for being reluctant about being in another relationship since the last one she had was pretty ugly. The chemistry between these two was off the charts though! Wow, they definitely had some hot moments. Either way, for my first Jill Shalvis book, I truly enjoyed and loved it. This one was a 5/5 stars! Tara and Ford's book is next~ hehe.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1) I have a devastating love for this series. I mean, look at my icon! It features Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen in the upcoming movie for this book. But anyway, I'm digressing. When I first read this book, I was reluctant to like it because books about dystopian communities has never been my kind of thing... but woah! Suzanne Collins literally blew me away when Katniss finally enters the stadium to compete for her life. I adore Katniss because she's not a Mary-Sue, others may disagree by saying she's annoying and indecisive, but I love her nonethless. She can fight for herself, and I think it's amazing how the arena truly makes her shine. I admit that the book started out pretty slow... but it picks up when the competition starts and a whole mess of tributes start dropping like flies.

This book is truly not for everyone, but it's definitely an eye opener because The Hunger Games is not a story about love or romance. It's a story about the harsh realities of war, death, poverty, and ultimately the strain in a totalitarianism government. I don't get why Hollywood is repeatedly saying that The Hunger Games will become another Twilight... when it's not. At all. How the hell can you compare the Mary-Sue Bella Swan to someone like Katniss Everdeen?! They're not even in the same category! If Bella was to be dropped in the arena? I'm pretty sure she wouldn't last. Hah, it's only my opinion though so.

As for the writing, the author does a pretty amazing job of keeping the story told through Katniss' eyes fast-paced and clear. Unlike other heroines, Katniss is completely dense when it comes to anything romantic. Which is why we have Peeta Mellark and Gale Hawthorne for that. Oh, Peeta. And this is where the famous love triangle begins! It was quite understandable that for the first book in any series, not everything has to be explained and detailed. Well, for this book, that would have to be the romance. The Hunger Games overall, is a very action-based book, but there are also hints of a romance underway... and Catching Fire will be the one to continue it. Overall, I've read this book about two times and I seriously wouldn't mind reading it again. In fact, I'm actually planning to later on. Suzanne Collins has definitely made a name for herself and this is probably why a movie is in the making for this series! 5/5 stars!!

Paranormalcy by Kiersten White

Paranormalcy (Paranormalcy, #1) Paranormalcy is honestly one of the best paranormal YA book that I've read this year! I can not wait for Supernaturally next month?! Holy cow. I absolutely adored Evie and Lend. It was like a girl meets boy kind of thing and aaah. It was so sweet! How their first kiss went and how she didn't want to hurt him after finding out what paranormal she was was so touching. If you're in the lookout for a wonderful paranormal book with a sassy, cute, witty, girl who loves pink, and a kick ass heroine... you're definitely looking at Evie! Lend is also an awesome hero because woah, have you ever met someone who can shape-shift into anything that he or she chooses to be and whose mother is a water spirit? I don't think so! He's sexy, hot, and just sweet and loveable towards Evie. Their get-together was so real. And I don't know about you... but Reth is one hot mess. He's supposedly the "bad guy" and in a way, he totally is. He's a Seelie faerie... but a creepy one at that. As readers, we don't exactly know the two courts' motives yet so we'll just have to find out in the next books! Anyway, I totally prefer Lend over Reth. Evie definitely chosed the right guy for herself. *wink*

The story and plot had a unique touch to it, so kudos to Kiersten White. Ever since she was three years old, Evie has always worked for the IPCA-- also known as the International Paranormal Containment Agency. The IPCA is an organization that is dedicated to paranormals and keeping normal people or "humans" from knowing about them. Well, things go from good to bad when paranormals suddenly start dying! Obviously, Evie thinks that this isn't any of her business because she's a human... right? Actually, no. Evie is in fact a LEVEL 7 paranormal! LEVEL 6 are faeries and the higher the level, the more dangerous the paranormal is. Uh oh! What exactly is Evie then?!

I'm not going to go more in-depth with this review because then, I would ruin for the story for all of you guys! Let's just say that you'll be in for a surprise when Evie's "heritage" or paranormal gets to be revealed towards the end of the book. Overall, this was another wonderful YA read that I've read this year. Paranormal/Urban YA has never been more sweet! I totally recommend this book to those who love all things romantic and fun in general. 5/5 stars!

Branded As Trouble by Lorelei James

Branded As Trouble (Rough Riders, #6) I haven't written a review for any of Ms. Lorelei James' books yet-- well, except for Bran and Harper's book, Saddled and Spurred... so here is my contribution! Branded As Trouble is Colt's book with India/Indy. I love stories where friends become lovers so this was definitely my kind of book! Their romance was sweet and sexy hot. Wow, does Lorelei James know how to write some smokin' love scenes between her characters. Some of the characters in previous books have also made an appearance in here, so it may be a good thing to read them before or after just to refresh your memory. Anyway, if you're in the lookout for a super hot western erotica romance series, you should definitely check out this one!

Colt McKay happens to be the "black sheep" in the family, as read/seen from the previous books. He's had an alcohol problem for awhile and has been attending the AA ever since. For three years as a matter of fact. And there, he befriends and eventually falls in love with India Ellison. India is not your typical girl of course. She's tough-looking but has a heart of gold AND, she does tattooing for a living... which is often talked and looked down upin in the town that they all live in in Wyoming. Well, Colt and Indy meet and secretly fall in love with each other during their many years of friendship and neither one of them has made a move. Their friends to lovers phase finally begins when they both agree to start out slow and date each other. It's truly refreshing to see something like this happen in erotica romances!

Either way, things start off with a bang between the two and they eventually end up going from the dating stage to the lovers stage. Whoo! And boy, was it sexy! Of course, with any romance, there has to be conflict right?

Indy and Colt happen to have a few issues when it comes to trusting one another... so things get a little bit complicated. But beyond that, thankfully everything worked out and they decided to resolve their issues by trusting each other and apologizing to one another towards the end. Overall, this was another wonderful read in the series! I'm definitely looking forward to Cam and Domini's story in Shoulda Been A Cowboy next. 5/5 stars!

Deadly Lies by Cynthia Eden

Deadly Lies (Deadly #3) Deadly Lies was one quite fascinating read that was full of action and steamy encounters between the hero and the heroine. If you love Pamela Clare's I-Team series or have a thing for romantic suspense, then you should definitely check this one out. Cynthia Eden is slightly new to the romance department but she is one talented lady! You can't exactly read this certain book as a stand-alone because the first book, Deadly Fear is significantly important or related to our heroine, Samantha Kennedy. I've enjoyed and loved every single one of the Deadly books so far because it had a combination of thriller, mystery, and plenty of spice between it's hero and heroine.

Samantha Kennedy has changed drastically ever since the villain from the first book scarred her forever. She's been to hell and back... and as a result, she pretends to be a confident and sexy woman in order to ease the pain away. With that in mind, she ends up meeting a handsome and sexy stranger and shares a one night stand with him. But of course, things don't always go as planned because the stranger that Sam shares the night with happens to be Max Ridgeway. He doesn't want to let her go and as a result, he wants more from his relationship with Sam. Whoo! Talk about some sizzling hot chemistry these two have. From the very beginning, their attraction was undeniable. I loved how even though Sam tells herself that nothing will ever happen between her and Max, it's obvious that she's falling in love with Max and vice-versa. From the very beginning, Max has always wanted more from Sam... even when he finds out that his stepbrother Quinlan, ends up being a 'victim' of the kidnappings that has been occuring lately and Sam happens to be an agent for the CIA.

Oh boy, the killer of the story! Wow, I totally did not expect it-- at all. The thing I love about Cynthia Eden's Deadly series is that she keeps the antagonist of the story myserious at all times until the very end when he reveals himself. There are a few excerpts here and there in the books where the scene shifts from the good guys to the bad guys. It definitely provided readers a good prospective of the killers. Overall, this was a wonderful read and I totally recommend it to any romantic suspense lovers who are in the look out for a very good series to read. 5/5 stars!

Die For Me by Amy Plum

Die for Me (Revenants, #1) Die For Me was unique in a sense because I was actually interested in the relationship between Kate and Vincent and how that will turn out to be... but it also didn't wow me either because Kate irritated me at times. I loved Vincent because he was just so sweet, heroic, and he broke my heart because he was also hurting because of Kate. But other than that, the story was interesting, the characters were essential to their own parts, and the writing flowed quite beautifully. Who wouldn't love to be in the City of Lights? If you're looking for a book about the battle between good & evil, finding love in someone you never would have expected, and lots of sweet between the hero and heroine, then be sure to get this book!

Kate Beaumont Mercier happens to be our heroine in the book. The reason why she's even in Paris is because after a car accident that left Kate and her olider sister parentless/orphans, her sister decided to move to Paris for a new start. There, she stays with her grandparents, and every day is eventually a struggle for her to escape the pain... until she meets the one boy who will change her life forever. I admit that there were some moments when I didn't like Kate because she was wish-washy towards Vincent. And I guess it's because she doesn't want the people that she loves to die again. But of course it's unevitable-- especially with Vincent's case.

Vincent Delacroix, can I just say I love his name? He happens to be the boy who evidently changes Kate's life when they cross eyes. He was such a wonderful and delicious hero who most definitely loves Kate from the bottom of his heart. Who wouldn't love a guy like that? He's gorgeous, sexy, strong, sweet, and French! But alas, he also has a huge secret that almost destroys his relationship with Kate. Thankfully, Kate saw the light or else I would have wanted to slap her. Vincent is a revenant, in other words, he is one of the undead. There's also the fact that he hasn't aged since the 1920s. The relationship between the two was just undeniably beautiful because the moments between Kate and Vincent was tender and adorable.

The villain of the story was pretty easy to figure out, and oh! Unlike other books, this one does not have a cliffhanger. It's more of a questionable ending that will probably continue on in the next book. There is a slight love triangle... but I doubt anything will happen since Vincent's also sort of possesive. Aha! To sum it up, this was a pretty unique and interesting debut by author Amy Plum that has everything a Paranormal Romance/Young Adult fan is looking for. 5/5 stars.

Unearthly by Cynthia Hand

Unearthly (Unearthly, #1) While I do admit that the character development and the potential of the story that Cynthia Hand had woven in Unearthly was top-notch, the ending left me feeling reluctant, unsatisfied, and wanting more? Apparently that's supposed to be a good thing. I was left wanting to know more and what will eventually become of Clara and Tucker. When it came to Christian, I knew from the very beginning that there was something wrong with him. He was just too... perfect. Tucker Avery on the other hand, had felt more real and perfect for Clara. Their relationship was just very sweet and adorable. One character that I still have my suspicions on is Angela; it seems like she has a motive, but it could be me talking here. Overall, Unearthly was a story about love, finding ones' own identity, and defying destiny in order to be truly happy. I loved every single moment of it.

When I first started out reading this book, I was rooting for Christian and Clara due to the misleading summary on the side. I did not know of Tucker's existence until later on in the book. Contrast to Christian's perfectness, Tucker is far from perfect. I find it amusing that he happens to be the type of guy who teases and makes fun of the girl that he likes. How adorable yet so childish! While Clara was mooning over Christian... Tucker was always there on the sidelines watching her. But enough of that, this book actually has a story in it as well.

Clara Gardner happens to be one quarter Angel and this is her story of fulfilling her 'destiny' or purpose. Her visions consists of a forest fire in Wyoming and a boy that happens to be Christian. Mysterious isn't it? Throughout the entire book, she often has these visions and each time, it's slightly different because her every move in the present affects her future. I totally dig the idea. But her destiny dramatically changes when she meets Tucker Avery and gets to know and love him. This puts things is another whole level where she is eventually forced to choose between love or her destiny.

To sum it up, Unearthly is a great book that will have you on the edge of your seat when it comes to finding out which of the choices that Clara ends up choosing. I'm actually devastated to know that the next book, Hallowed will be released next year. Oh well! The world will still go on but yeah, this was such a great read that I wouldn't mind reading it again. 5/5 stars!

Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison

Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) This was such an amazing and heartfelt book. If you want a kickass and witty heroine along with a super alpha and sexy hero, this is the type of book you should be checking out!! I absolutely adored Pia because she was sarcastic and readers can't help but like her. Her entire life has been a secret and when she meets Dragos, everything changes. It's a story about finding true love and the process of figuring out your own identity. I'm truly glad I checked this book out because I love paranormal romance where there are lots of sexy moments between the H/hr (Yes! Lots of explosive chemistry between Pia and Dragos!!) and the fact that there's also plenty of action as well. For Thea Harrison's first debut, this one is definitely a winner and I absolutely can't wait for Tiago and Trick's book! I know for sure that that book will be another great one.

I guess I've always had a thing for books about dragos. Eragon anyone? But this one definitely hit the mark for me. A super aplha and possessive hero, a kickass heroine, and add in lots of actions and romance between the two? This is definitely my type of book. At first, I did thought the beginning was rather slow... but when Dragos finally tracks Pia down, that is when the story finally begins for me. I loved their sexy banter towards one another. Oh! Especially that one scene where Dragos tries to beguile/seduce Pia but ends up falling into his own trap. Ahaha, I loved it! From the very beginning, Dragos was doomed because to him, Pia was irresistable. Pia also had the same dilemma because hello! He's sexy, dangerous, and there's just something about him that calls out to her. Yep, lots of laugh out loud moments here. I loved it whenever he gets possessive of her and tells Pia that she's his, mmm.

And if you thought their chemistry was explosive, wait until they finally get together and make love. It will be some of the most sizzlin' hot scenes that you'll ever read about! Either way, this was definitely an unforgettable read that any type of romance lovers would love. The world that Thea Harrison created was magical and very unique, and that is something that's quite fascinating. Plus, there are also some new characters that will be introduced: Graydon (my favorite), Rune, Tiago, Tricks, and many more! Fans of J.R. Ward and Larissa Ione will gobble this up like no other. 5/5 stars!!!

Breaking Point by Pamela Clare

Breaking Point (I-Team, #5) I think it's time I finally pay my respects to the wonderful Pamela Clare. I absolutely adored Natalie and Zach's relationship because of the explosive chemistry that they had together as well as the situation that ensued these two to meet. It may not be my favorite, but it's definitely second best when it comes to the previous book, Naked Edge. I don't know if I can give this review justice, but this was equally another amazing book in the I-Team series! My heart broke for both Zach and Natalie because they were two broken souls who needed love-- esepcially after the tragic events that had to occur in their lives. The characters were well-developed and we actually get to see the rest of the team from the previous books! Hunter, Darcangelo, and my favorite? Rossiter!! There's also Joaquin... which I'm pretty sure we'll be able to get his book later on. I sure hope so because he also deserves his HEA as well.

Let's talk about Natalie, Zach, and their amazing chemistry! I must admit that the way the met was not the best situation. It was horrifying to read how Zach got tortured and how one of the Zetas (Quintana) had sort of 'violated' Natalie. Thankfully, they managed to escape and so begins their journey across the dangerous desert to the border. While I do admit that the romance between these two were hot with a capital H, I also felt that it was a little bit too fast. Zach kept on "assuring" Natalie that nothing was going to come out of this so called 'relationship' that they were having. He just didn't want to admit that he was falling for Natalie. But I do understand the process that came to be because of their love for one another. Natalie knew right off the bat that Zach was the one even though she thought that she wasn't able to love again after her fiancee, Beau died. But... with Zach, she felt as if she was able to love again. As I've said, Zach and Natalie are both lonely people who crave love.

Natalie happens to be the only survivor in her family and Zach happens to be also the only survivor out of his group of friends. Sad isn't it? These two have so much in common with each other that it's heartbreaking. I'm just glad that Zach finally saw the light and accepted his love Natalie and her love for him. Ah, and I must mention the intense love scenes between the two. Wowzers! It was smokin' hot and very sexy. That waterfall scene was a nice bonus, but my favorite part was what happened after Zach told Natalie about his time in the war. I'm talking about the morning after and the intense love session that occurred, LOL! ;)

Overall, I loved it and the villains of the story got what they deserved! My favorite quote related to Zach has got to be one of his monologues:

She was his absolution, his redemption, his salvation.
It's simple yet very meaningful! 5/5 stars!!

Just One Of The Guys by Kristan Higgins

Just One Of The Guys Just One Of The Guys happens to be one of those books where the heroine has always been in love with her first love since the very beginning. It's sweet and I have a thing for that. But due to some difficult circumstances and misunderstandings... things just didn't work out. I've been a fan of Kristan Higgins for awhile now and I've loved every single one of her books. It's charming, witty, and just downright heartbreaking sometimes. I absolutely adored Chastity because even though she's a tomboy and is often "mistaken" for her brother Lucky, she still dreams of love and being married to the guy she loves and children! Trevor happens to be her one true love but unfortunately, because he's always been treated as another brother in her family, things... are definitely complicated. It was frustrating to see her not being with him while she was dating another guy name Ryan. Hah, that was a joke!

But yes, even though they didn't get together until the very end of the book (argh!), I still loved their relationship nonetheless. It was heartbreaking and seriously cute because he pops up when she least expects it! Oh no, Trevor's not her real brother by the way. Her childhood story involving him was very sweet... and I'm just going to leave it at that. And ever since then, he has been treated as family by her family members. I do believe the scene that cracked me up the most was the scene where Chas is on her date with Ryan and Trevor and Hayden (Trevor's ex-fiancee) happened to be there! She gets a green stain on her white blouse right on her breast. I mean what is this! Hahaha. Trevor ends up helping her out and quite frankly, the scene turns out to be hilarious.

Last but not least, there was another part in this story that was rather... very sad. You see, Chastity's mom ended up divorcing her dad because she wasn't able to "wait" for him anymore-- in other words, she had been telling him to retire but he keeps on refusing her. In the end, she ended up marrying another, even though she still loved her ex-husband, and that just breaks my heart. I wanted her to get back with her husband but that didn't end up happening. Overall, I truly enjoyed this book!! 4/5 stars.

All I Ever Wanted by Kristan Higgins

All I Ever Wanted Kristan Higgins has always been a favorite of mine when it comes to contemporary romances. Her writing is funny, sweet, and even emotional at times! Well, after reading this lovely book, All I Ever Wanted... I would really like to have an Ian McFarland all to myself. Callie and Ian are two completely different people from different ends of the spectrum. Callie happens to have a very bubbly, nice, and talkitive personality while Ian is stiff, he doesn't talk much, and at times, he is very unfriendly! It's interesting to see how Callie eventually melts his cold persona and find her happily ever after in the end.

This was a really cute contemporary and to be honest, I wouldn't mind to read it again. It was cheesy, but it's the adorable kind of cheese. I loved Callie but she also has many faults as well. She often tries 'too hard' as Ian pointed out-- and in a way, it's true. She's so nice that people, especially her boss Mark, takes advantage of her! Argh. If you're looking for one of those cute families in books that love each other yet they bicker to one another, I think you should definitely read this! Noah, Callie's grandfather, was an amazing character and it was really sad that he had to go in the end. As for Ian and Callie's first meeting, well that was rather amusing! After having a terrible day at work (Callie thought that Mark was going to propose to her but instead, he broke up with her) and ending up in line at the DMV, Ian happens to be the jerk behind her! Ah, what a wonderful beginning.

Now Ian Macfarland, the town's vet who happens to be very stiff and unfriendly. It's cute to see his transformation from that into someone who is definitely more lovable. I loved how he learned to love from Callie because of how, in his own words, "alive" she is. She basically brings the life and emotion in his life. Isn't that just sweet?! This isn't those types of book where the H/Hr pretty much get together immediately. It wasn't until more than halfway into the book that they finally started 'going steady,' haha. It was lovely to see the reason why he has such a bitter perspective towards woman... and my heart reached out towards him. Thankfully, Callie came into his life and made him happy! What a lovely turn of events, eh? To sum it up, this was a very enjoyable book and if you're looking for something fun and summer-ish to read, I recommend this book!

Annie's Song by Catherine Anderson

Annie's Song I don't even know how to describe my feelings after finishing this book last night. It was beautiful, inspiring, and tantalizing in every way. I cried so much for Alex and Annie because of the sufferings that they had to endure to be together. The journey in finding true love is not always an easy one... but when it comes, it is always unexpected. I loved the relationship between Alex and Annie so much that it hurts. I wanted them to get their happily ever after and in the end, I got exactly what I wanted and even more! If you think about it, if Douglas had never done what he did, Alex would never have met Annie and loved her this much. Fate is such a funny thing. What was so heartbreaking about this book was the fact that our heroine, Annie, was also misunderstood and people believed that she was a moron... when in fact, she was just deaf.

Annie's Song by Catherine Anderson is definitely one of the best western historical romance novels that I have read this year. It was a sweet story about two people growing to love one another so much that living without them would be like "dying inside." I loved each and every one of the characters-- except Annie's parents. Not only were they ignorant, but they were also selfish. Especially her dad! Her mother did redeem herself... so I hated her less. One of my favorite parts in the book was when Alex finally told Annie that he loved her with the ear trumpet. It was so heart wrenching because soon after, she ran out of the room crying! The thoughts that were inside her head, my god. She believed that Alex deserved someone that wasn't HALF of a person, like her. Someone who wasn't deaf and could be able to love him as much as he loved her.

I was actually shocked at how hot the love scenes were. Even though other would say no, I thought it was both sweet and spicy at the same time. Alex and Annie definitely have chemistry! To sum it up, this book is definitely a keeper. I wasn't able to stop thinking about what would happen next and I think in that aspect, Catherine Anderson has done a wonderful job!!

In Cold Blood by Truman Capote

In Cold Blood: A True Account of a Multiple Murder and Its Consequences In Cold Blood is a haunting novel that portrays the darker side of society. While I did not enjoy reading it since my Professor assigned this reading to us, it is still a novel that I will never likely forget. It explores the faults of our very own justice system and how everything isn't just always black or white... but also shades of gray. Ultimately, I felt sorry for the Clutter family and Perry Smith but pity for Dick Hickock. Even towards the end, he was never remorseful or apologized for his sins-- hence forth his death was his very own redemption. Perry on the other hand, is an entirely different matter.

Unlike Dick, Perry never truly had a happy childhood but a rather misfortunate one. Every single one of his siblings ended up committing suicide except for his sister, Barbara Johnson-- she actually leads a pretty good life. I think the most heartbreaking aspect of all is the fact that essentially, his family is probably one of the main reasons why he ended up becoming a human being that is thoroughly flawed and lost. I think Truman Capote does exceptionally well trying to convey to his readers how pitiful Perry was and as a result, we sympathize with him. All Perry ever wanted in life was to be happy and search for 'lost treasure' but apparently, that won't likely ever happen. To make matters worse, he ended up in an accident that scarred both his legs and even his soul forever. It may seem like I'm trying to defend him for his crimes but I'm actually not. He is essentially a murderer who brutally murdered a family of four. But as a reader, I feel as if Perry was never 'right' in the head. He was often mistreated as a child ever since his mother and father became estranged. One of the worst things that I have read about Perry Smith's childhood was when he was beaten up by nuns in an orphanage. I don't think I could ever look at the world the same way again... and this is why Truman Capote became one of the most famous writers of his time and the most well-known in present day.

Dick Hickock is and will always be one of the characters that disgusts and make me pity him at the same time. He disgusts me because of his attraction to children and wanting to rape Nancy Clutter during the night of the murder. The scene that I will never likely forget is the one in which Perry and Dick are both in Miami, Florida and Dick tries to 'seduce' a twelve-year old child. Perry was disgusted and believe me, I wanted to throw up. He is essentially the true mastermind behind the entire murder and this is also another reason as to why I hate him. He could have lived his whole life as the ideal husband and father to his children but things ultimately changed, as life does in the outcome. Ever since he was in an accident that caused his face to be disfigured, the novel stated that he came out as a different person. I guess this is when his crimes truly began.

Even though I did not give this read a 5 out of 5 stars, this will always be a book that I'll never likely read again due to the emotions that Capote was able to pull out of me. Every time I think of the Clutter family, Perry and yes, even Dick... I think of the life that they could have had. The life and childhood that Perry had always wanted and the life that Dick could have had if he had gone to college instead of getting a job. Well done Truman Capote, well done.

Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke's Heart by Sarah Maclean

Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke's Heart (Love By Numbers, #3) Boy, if you thought that Sarah Maclean's first book to this series, Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake was amazing... then this book is going to blow it straight out of the water. I've been anticipating Juliana and Simon's relationship ever since book one. Remember the scene where they met each other while Juliana was looking for a gift for her brother? Starting right there and then, that was their beginning! I had high expectations for this book because while I loved Callie's story with Gabriel, I did not like Nick and Isabel's. Sarah Maclean finally redeems herself in this installment and gives her dear characters and happily ever after that they all deserve.

The romance between these two was amazingly hot because of their dynamic chemistry that started from the very beginning. I loved every stolen moment and kiss between Simon and Juliana because while he often and so repeatedly say that he would never fall with her... sometimes, you can't control love at all. Juliana Fiori is described as a walking scandal, and in a way, she is. Simon Pearson happens to be the Duke of Disdain because he grew up believing that reputation is everything. Scandal is definitely something that he should stay far away from! But of course, what man could resist someone like Juliana? Even though I didn't shed as many tears when I read Callie's story, Juliana's story with Simon was a heartfelt and beautiful story of finding love from someone that you least expect it to be. I loved how Juliana tempted Simon in every way-- which makes it so much more enjoyable!

The ending was a perfect conclusion to a wonderful story and as a reader, I am proud to say that Sarah Maclean has done a wonderful job wrapping everything up and somehow... leaving some stories open. I really hope Benedick and Georgiana will be able to get their own HEA because they deserve so much. A BIG five stars for this lovely read that I'll never likely forget!!

Where She Went by Gayle Forman

Where She Went (If I Stay, #2) I don't even know how to explain how wonderful this book was to me so I'm just going to repeat my status: The ending was a masterpiece. It was wonderful, beautiful, and essentially the most breathtaking ending I've ever read! That rollercoaster of a ride was definitely worth it.

For a book to have me conjure up so many emotions is just breathtaking, and I think this book just earned a place in my heart. If you have NOT read If I Stay yet, I suggest you do so now and then read this book because I'm pretty sure you won't regret it!!! The thing that shocked me most about this series.... was that it was so real. In the first book, we get to read Mia's point of view and her struggle to keep on living after the tragic event that happened to her family. If you were the only survivor in your family of four, what else do you have to live for? If you thought that HER story was sad... oh boy. Adam just broke my heart and you can actually feel his pain and sorrow at what Mia did to him. Gayle Forman should get a standing ovation for her beautiful and heartbreaking writing because after this book, she's definitely an auto-buy author for me! Surprisingly, I definitely loved this book more than its predecessor.

In this second installment of the series, instead of having Mia as our narrator, we see the world through Adam's eyes. Three years have passed since the tragic accident that irrevocably changed Mia and Adam's lives forever. As the reader, you have no idea what exactly had happened after Mia woke up from her near death experience... but we do know that Mia's family is no longer alive, Adam is a rock star and his band has hit stardom, and Mia, who is a rising star at Julliard, is no longer a part of Adam's life because of his 'promise.' Destiny sure takes it's course to reunite these two together in the same city (New York), and for one night, everything will be answered.

Even after finishing the book, Where She Went still gives me goosebumps because of how raw and emotional it was. Yes, it was that good and I'm not even exaggerating! I think one of the most heartbreaking aspect of this book was how even though Adam became famous, he had lost his love for music and apparently happiness as well. Every waking moment was a torture for him to wake up and get through the day because of the guilt of the promise and because of why Mia did what she did. Neither the reader nor Adam knew why she left him... but towards the end, we finally get our answer and closure. To sum it up, this was just a wonderful & amazing book and I still shake my head of how GOOD it was. It would be great to get another book because I can't get enough of Adam and Mia, but I also think that the end of this book was also their beginning. See, it's a beginning to and end where they both will be able to achieve their happy ever after.

Thank you NetGalley for this amazing arc and I certainly will be adding this to my wishlist to buy! Reading this book through the tears and heartbreak was definitely worth it!!

Falling Under by Gwen Hayes

Falling Under (Falling Under, #1) For Gwen Hayes's first debut, this book was pretty amazing. The flow of the story and the intricate characters and writing that the author creates was just memorizing. I can't stop thinking about it! Plus, I'm also a sucker for tortured heroes... and Haden Black is that one. I didn't think I would have shed so many tears for these two people who, even though they loved each other, could not be together. Falling Under is a story about finding the love of your life and fighting for what you believe in, as well as the confounding emotion of wanting someone so much that you might end up hurting them. It was beautifully written and I'm dying to read the second installment of this series! If you're into dark paranormal romance with plenty of sexual undertones everywhere, then this is the book for you. I mean holy cow, Haden is one sexy and emotional hero who loves deeply and pretty much darkly.

My favorite quote from Haden was this:
“Darkness lives in me, Theia. Inside of me. Like a sickness. And right next to it, intertwined with it, are my feelings for you. If I act on one, I’ll act on the other. The darkness in me wants you the way a black hole eats stars. I dream of tasting you, devouring you.” His eyes darkened terribly.

This isn’t a crush; it’s an obsession. You are never not in my thoughts. Your scent carries across a room and paralyzes me with longing. I don’t want to hold your hand. Part of me wants to set you on fire and hold you while the flame consumes us both, to eat your heart so I know that only I possess it entirely. Are you scared now? Does your human mind comprehend the danger at last? I’m not like you. I’m not human, not completely anyway.”
I have to admit that there were times when I wanted to smack Theia because she was one of those heroines... that needed 'saving.' She was characterized as an obedient daughter who wanted to break out of her shell, but never actually could or wanted to. It went on for awhile until one day, everything changed. I have to admit, the author created a pretty unique story in which the world in which Haden lived in was just so dark and beautiful.

Haden claims that he is evil and in a sense, that is true. He is part of something that will irrevocably change Theia's life forever and I think that is what makes this book so damn mind blowing! The ending was especially that because of the sudden twist in the story as well as the change in the POV. I never would have thought that the author would switch up the story like that. Either way, this was a wonderful story that definitely deserves attention! THIS, is how a YA Paranormal story should be written.

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

Anna and the French Kiss I fell completely and utterly in love with this book. There are no words to describe how I feel about it besides postive words like wonderful, marvelous, and just beautiful overall. Even the ending made me smile! I love Anna and Etienne's relationship so much because it was so freaken sweet! Etienne literally redefines the word sexy and adorable. I recommend this book to any YA and contemporary romance fans because it's definitely a book that you don't want to miss out on! The cover and title may be quite misleading because of it's simpleness... but there is NOTHING simple about this book. It's story about finding true love, independence, and friendship. What's not to love?

After reading so many positive reviews about this book, I decided to give this one a go and I've been hooked ever since. Anna is a very likable heroine who is often flawed in many ways. Yes, there were many moments when I had to face palm because of some of the "dumb" things that she did. She's not perfect but no one truly is. She's just a girl who's falling in love with a guy who she isn't supposed to fall in love with. I love how she tries her best to not fall in love with him because she knows it's wrong. But unfortunately, when you've fallen too deep in love with someone... it's hard to keep it all in. As for her friends, Mer, Josh, and Rashmi were pretty much awesome and what anyone would want in a group of friends. If it wasn't for them, I don't think Anna would have felt at home in Paris and found where she belonged. But her other friend back home Bridgette... let's just say I don't have a lot of nice things to say about her. To sum it up, she did the most hurtful thing that a best friend could do. Read this book to find out!

And now, let's finally talk about the cute English boy with a French name who claims that he is an American, Etienne St. Clair! Ugh, this guy is such a sweet, adorable, funny, and sexy mess. Not really, he's actually a neat freak like Anna. I think his relationship with Anna made this the most enjoyable book I have read in awhile. It's quite obvious that he's gorgeous and is the most popular boy in school... but alas, he is also another flawed character and I think this aspect is what makes him real. He fell in love with Anna the first time he met her but with a few complications such as his girlfriend, Ellie, it things a lot more complicated. Of course he feels guilty which is why both he and Anna try desperately to be just friends but it doesn't exactly work. They end up falling deeper and harder for each other the more time they spend with one another. But seriously, you'll know why these two make the perfect couple when you read it!

So YES, this book was so good that I had to go out and buy my own copy and read it over and over again. Not to mention that while I was reading this, Colbie Caillat's Falling For You was on! Overall, I give this book a HUGE 5 stars because of how great it was. For Stephanie Perkins first debut, she did an AMAZING job and I can't wait to read her next work!!
