Release Blitz: Royally Yours by Emma Chase

Princess Lenora Celeste Beatrice Arabella Pembrook had an unusual childhood. She was raised to be a Queen—the first Queen of Wessco.

It’s a big deal.

When she’s crowned at just nineteen, the beautiful young monarch is prepared to rule. She’s charming, clever, confident and cunning.

What she isn’t…is married. It’s her advising council’s first priority.

It’s what Parliament is demanding, and what her people want.

Lenora has no desire to tie herself to a man—particularly one who only wants her for her crown. But compromises must be made and royals must do their duty.

Even Queens. Especially them.

**

Years ago, Edward Langdon Richard Dorian Rourke, walked away from his title and country. Now he’s an adventurer—climbing mountains, exploring jungles, going wherever he wants, when he wants—until family devotion brings him home.

And a sacred promise keeps him there. To Edward, the haughty, guarded little Queen is intriguing, infuriating…and utterly captivating. Wanting her just might drive him mad—or become his greatest adventure.

**

Within the cold, stone walls of the royal palace—mistrust threatens, wills clash, and an undeniable, passionate love will change the future of the monarchy forever.

Every dynasty has a beginning. Every legend starts with a story.

This is theirs.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Royally Yours by Emma Chase

Royally Yours (Royally, #4)Emma Chase's Royally Yours tells the love story of Queen Lenora and Edward Rourke. This was such a wonderful, sexy, and sweet story. It reminded me of Netflix's The Crown which I thought was really interesting and cool. This is still a lot more romantic though. While Royally Matched still remains my favorite in this series, I consider this second best even though I did sort of dragged my feet when I first started it. Lenora takes awhile to get used to because she can seem rather cold and unfeeling at times but it quickly changes after she meets Edward and eventually falls in love with him.

Edward is the type of hero who is both sweet and unbelievable sexy. Not only is he devoted to Lenora but he loves her desperately. The same can also be said of Lenora's feelings towards Edward. Their chemistry is off the charts hot. I'm not kidding when I say that I had heart palpitations the first time they decided to take things a step further. However, I do have to say that their union comes at the price of Lenora best friend and Edward's brother, Thomas. It broke my heart because Lenora's friendship with Thomas was so sad. They became friends because they were both lonely but his death also forged her into becoming the strong woman who will one day become queen and eventually Edward's wife.

In addition to being a super swoon-worthy romance, Royally Yours is essentially a prequel to the Royally series. Lenora's story is the beginning of everything. This is hers and Edward's dynasty and boy, is it an amazing one. The fact that we all know what will eventually happen in the future is incredible. It really makes you want to go back and read the entire series all over again! Who would have thought that Lenora would live long enough see the happily ever afters of her grandchildren

Anyway, I highly recommend this book. You won't be disappointed by Lenora's love story and the beginning of her dynasty!

Cover Reveal: The Son & His Hope by Pepper Winters

You thought you'd seen the last of Ren & Della's story? Well, it looks like we're getting a book for their son, Jacob Wild! Like his parent's story, I can tell Jacob and Hope's will be just as heartbreaking.

The Son & His Hope
Genre: Coming of Age Romance

“Things you should know about me from the very beginning:
I was born to true love, witnessed the destruction it causes, and vowed never to let such agony happen to me. I am not a story-teller like my father. I am not a writer like my mother. I am just a son—their son.
I am happy being alone.
And that is all I ever want to be.”
JACOB
The day he was born, Jacob learned his hardest and longest lesson.
It wasn’t a lesson a boy should learn so young, but from his earliest memories he knew where happiness lives, so does tragedy. Where love exists, so does heartbreak. And where hope resides, so does sorrow.
That lesson carved him from the kid to the teen to the man.
And nothing and no one could change his mind.
HOPE
I first met him when he was fourteen at a movie premiere of all places. A movie based on his parent’s life.
He was stoic, strong, suspicious, and secretive.
I was only ten, but I felt something for him. A strange kind of sorrow that made me want to hug and heal him.
I was the daughter of the actor hired to play his father.
We shared similarities.
I recognised parts of him because they were parts of me.
But no matter how many times we met. No matter how many times I tried.
He stayed true to his vow to never fall.

Cover Reveal: Ren & Della - The Ribbon Duet Box Set

I've been tasked with a mission for Pepper Winters and it looks like she'll be releasing a boxed set for Ren and Della's story! If you haven't read their books yet, you really should. Not only will it break your heart but you'll probably end up in tears by the end of it. Not the best way to recommend a series BUT TRUST ME, IT'S REALLY GOOD.

REN & DELLA: The Ribbon Duet Boxed Set

Genre: Coming of Age Romance

From New York Times Bestseller, Pepper Winters, comes her most poignant tale yet.
This edition contains both books: THE BOY & HIS RIBBON and THE GIRL & HER REN.
The complete RIBBON DUET.

“What do you do when you meet your soul mate? No wait…that’s too easy. What do you do when you meet your soul mate and have to spend a lifetime loving him in secret? I’ll tell you what you do. You lie.”

REN
Ren was eight when he learned that love doesn’t exist—that the one person who was supposed to adore him only cared how much he was worth. His mother sold him and for two years, he lived in terror. But then…he ran. He thought he’d run on his own. Turned out, he took something of theirs by accident and it became the one thing he never wanted and the only thing he ever needed.

DELLA
I was young when I fell in love with him, when he switched from my world to my everything. My parents bought him for cheap labour, just like they had with many other kids, and he had the scars to prove it. At the start, he hated me, and I could understand why. For years he was my worst enemy, fiercest protector, and dearest friend. But by the end…he loved me. The only problem was, he loved me in an entirely different way to the way I loved him. And slowly, my secret drove us apart.

Playboy

Synopsis:
A brand new contemporary romance from New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author Katy Evans.

It started as a game.
We flirted. We played. Most importantly—we won.
Then I discovered who he was: Gambler. Famous playboy. Silver-eyed player who never plays to lose...
And my best friend’s soon-to-be brother in law, Cullen Carmichael.
He needed a good luck charm, I needed a distraction.
So we made a gamble and set off for Vegas—but pretty soon—I was in too deep.
My heart, soul, and body weren't supposed to be part of the deal.
But somewhere between big wins and long nights, my house of cards started to tumble.
What was this devil with those piercing eyes doing to me?
I’d given up on love, but the wicked, all-in Cullen Carmichael was upping the ante and wouldn’t stop until he’d won it all.

Excerpt:
“So you just kissed me because you wanted to.” I speak on a breath.
“Very good. You’re perceptive. Intuitive.”
I realize he’s teasing me in that low, terribly rumbly voice and I wish he would smile at me.
He takes my hand and fingers my palm with his thumb as he leads me to our suite.
I’m sizzling where he touches me, nervously prying my hand free when he leads me into the biggest, most spectacular two-bedroom penthouse suite I’ve ever seen. Not that I’d seen one before in person, only movies.
There’s a kitchen area, and windows from floor to ceiling. A living room, a pool table, gold brass chandeliers, a brown-and-beige-patterned carpet, dark woods, Italian leathers. Gorgeous! I could move in here.
Now I see the appeal but won’t admit as much.
Thinking of our bet, I pay attention to the art on the walls. It’s expensive. I can tell by the numbered print and the signature. Painters with indecipherable and artistic signatures are often the artists to watch. It’s like they know from the moment they paint their first work that they’re on to something big, something that will distinguish their work from all others.
I wish Cullen loved art as much as I do. Maybe I could drag him away from the tables to a local gallery.
“Wow. I could just live he—” I spin around and bump into his big warm body, and he bends his head and kisses my words right out of me.
Kisses me stupid. Kisses my toes curled. Kisses my brain blank. Kisses my heart crazy.

7 win at any cost

Playboy by Katy Evans

Playboy (Manwhore, #5)While it isn't quite necessary to read the previous books in the Manwhore series, I still highly recommend it because Rachel, Gina, and Livvy's books were great. Rachel and Saint's was my favorite! This time, it's Wynn's turn in Playboy. It's been a long time coming but I never thought she would be paired with Callan Carmichael's brother, Cullen. He was barely mentioned in Livvy and Callan's book but what we do know of him was that he liked to compete, gamble, and a mysterious figure. Fast forward a couple of months later, specifically after the events of Womanizer, Wynn meets Cullen at an unexpected place -- not knowing that he had already marked her as his when she was with her ex-boyfriend, Emmett, a long time ago.

It's a very interesting premise and I wish I liked it more but I felt like something was missing. I had hoped for more of Cullen's POV but what we got was Wynn's back and forth between seeing Cullen as "just a friend" and being tempted by him at every turn. He was obviously seducing her from the get-go and I wanted to know why he was doing it. It seemed like he knew more about her than meets the eye. Anyway, I did really love the banter between Cullen and Wynn though. They were constantly daring and betting against each other until it finally culminated into a very hot night between the two. Although they first met in Chicago, much of the book takes place in Las Vegas. I won't go into detail as to why they were there but as we all know from the synopsis, Cullen is a high-stakes gambler and he aims to win the prize, both Wynn and the title of best player in the world.

Ah, the romance. Katy Evans excels in writing sexual tension and chemistry between her main characters; Wynn and Cullen is no exception. The road leading up to their night together was my favorite part of Playboy. Not only is Cullen confident, sexy, and broody but he knows exactly what he wants and it's Wynn. I'm just shocked that she was able to withstand his intensity and want for so long to be honest. They didn't get together until halfway through the book! I do have to point out that I did get a Remy and Brooke vibe from this book. Cullen considers Wynn his "lucky charm" and it reminded me of Brooke being Remy's from Real.

In the end, I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to fans of Katy Evans and the Manwhore series. It was honestly the perfect ending to it all. We even got to see characters from past books and what they have been up to. I'm not sure who's going to be next but I really am curious about Pepper (Wynn's gallery assistant) and Isaac (a friend of Cullen's and the group).

Iron and Magic by Ilona Andrews

Iron and Magic (The Iron Covenant, #1) Right off the bat, I just want to say that I never thought I would be reading a book about HUGH. I mean, he was one of the "antagonists" in the Kate Daniel's series. It's hard to not hold a grudge but I think... Ilona and Gordon have managed to make me (and I'm sure several others) a fan. I no longer "hate" or despise Hugh for what he did. He's still an asshole but he's also become more human in my eyes. Not to mention Elara is his perfect half; their chemistry is hilarious and HOT. Anyway, I'll go further in-depth on what I thought about the story, characters, and romance in this review.

StoryWhile the story did start off pretty slow, it eventually picks up once Hugh meets Elara, our new heroine so to speak. Unlike Kate's book, Iron and Magic is written in third person. We don't exactly know the full extent of Hugh or Elara's minds but we do know enough. Hugh has been cut off from Roland and he is not the same person who once was. Not only is he miserable but also broken as well. He has lost the will to go on until the Iron Dogs, those who are loyal to Hugh, persuade him to make a move or else they will all die by the hands of Roland's men. By moving on, he eventually meets Elara and her people.

RomanceWhat I loved most about Hugh and Elara's relationship is that it starts out very unconventional. They absolutely hate each other's guts but are forced to marry each other for the sake of their own people's safety. What we all don't realize until much later on is that their mutual hatred for each other has turned into a deep attraction between the two. Hugh loves taunting and fighting Elara and I'm quite certain she feels the same way. He doesn't feel broken whenever he's with her and instead feels electrified by it. It almost reminds me of Nevada and Rogan's (from the Hidden Legacy series) relationship when they were in their early stages. I never expected to root for Hugh but I'm definitely rooting for him now and his relationship with Elara!

Characters: There were a lot of new characters in this book, some old and new, and also a few unexpected cameos (Raphael, Andrea, Ascanio!!!) Kate was also mentioned a couple of times in this book and I honestly got goosebumps. Fans of the Kate Daniel's series should know that Kate's story is ending very soon so this can be counted as a prequel of sorts to the final book. Anyway, I look forward to getting books/stories for the new characters since I do see an attraction between one of the Iron Dogs and Elara's friend/close confidant, Stoyan and Johanna.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book even though it took me awhile to read and review it. I can't wait to see where Hugh's story will lead because Elara is a very special being. I'm not too entirely sure what she is but... she is very powerful and ancient. Even Hugh is unsure and that says a lot. However, the fact that Hugh is willing to try for their marriage is already an amazing thing, especially when they never wanted each other in the first place. I highly recommend this book for fans of Ilona Andrews and the Kate Daniel's series.

Book 2 in the End of Men Series.

“Without the risk of getting hurt, there is no probability of falling in love,” I tell her. “Vulnerability and love go hand in hand.”

“That must be why all the men are gone.” She smirks. “With that sort of logic, it’s no wonder.” I take her in—smooth, honey skin that smells like apples, the broad bridge of her nose and arched nostrils. I don’t know how to tell her that back then men were not the romantics. The things we had left of the past: the movies, and the books, and the stories, were things hoped for, not seen.

I lean close so that my mouth is next to her ear, my lips brushing her skin. “There is no logic in love, little thief. It starts small and grows into something very big and endless. Something you’re willing to die for. Don’t you long to feel something like that? Instead of all the emptiness you’re so used to…”

She pulls back and stares me right in the face. I can’t help myself. The quirky little corner of her mouth is raised like she’s mocking me, probably not the best time to kiss a woman. But I drop my head anyway and kiss her, letting my tongue softly graze her bottom lip. She pauses, her breath sucking in, and then she pushes away from me. For a moment, it’s just the two of us facing each other on the dance floor, the cider lights speckling our faces, and then as abruptly as she pulled away, she turns on her heel and leaves. I smile as I watch her go, her steps unsure like she’s dizzy.

“Dancers don’t get dizzy,” I call after her.

The headline caught my attention.

“Hours are negotiable, pay is minimal, clothing absolutely forbidden.”

“Able to hold your bladder and tongue, refrain from opinions or suggestions, and be the perfect living canvas.”
The third made me scowl.

“Other attributes required: non-ticklish, contortionist, and obedient. Must also enjoy being studied while naked in a crowd.”
The fourth made me shudder.
