Tempting the King by Dani Wyatt

Tempting the King (Palate Teasers #3)Dani Wyatt makes a return with her latest release, Tempting the King—a standalone romance full heat, over-the-top romance, and an obsessive love from her MMC. Although the book started off slow in the beginning, it quickly picked up once Emee and King had their first true meeting. I liked that Emee was incredibly independent and had issues with not being in control due to past trauma. Unfortunately for her, meeting King threatened everything including her livelihood, control, and future. This was one of those opposites attract romance because while Emee was a rule follower, King had anger issues, was prone to violence, and embodied everything that was chaos. The story begins with them as therapist and patient but quickly spiraled out of control because King was determined to possess Emee and demanded everything from her.

“Give it all to me. All that sweetness. Lose control for me, baby. When you’re with me, I take care of everything.”

In the end, this was an incredibly spicy and short romance between two characters who were able to overcome their past trauma and find love with each other. King was a dirty talker and I was completely enamored over his obsessive and possessive love for Emee. He was simply crazy and unhinged for her, which made for an entertaining read. The bit with Emee's brother was somewhat frustrating to read because he was clearly taking advantage of her but I was happy with how they were able to resolve it in the end. I'm hoping that the author will write a book for Victor Kozlov, King's best friend and teammate, because he was interesting and had a lot of personality. If you are looking for a quick and dirty romance featuring likable characters and plenty of steam, you won't be disappointed with this book!

Step-Crush by Dani Wyatt

STEP-CRUSH: A Cozy Mafia Forbidden Abduction Romance (Wanting What's Wrong)Dani Wyatt concludes her Wanting What's Wrong series with an incredibly sexy and fiery forbidden romance between a former step-father and the woman he had been obsessed with for years. Ramses might the author's most intense and unhinged hero that she has ever written. At one point, even I was uncomfortable with what was happening but there was no denying that the off-the-charts smut was simply excellent—Dani certainly delivered this time! The story features many tropes including a forbidden and taboo romance between a former step-father by name and his step-daughter, forced kidnapping, dub/con, and forced marriage. It was all very shocking and the twist blew me away. I didn't see it coming until the very end. Ramses and Bijou's relationship was unexpected but it checked all my boxes in terms of a quick and all-consuming dirty romance.
“She is my life and my possession, and I take care of what’s mine.”
In the end, Ramses and Bijou's passionate and crazy romance was the perfect conclusion to the series and had everything I wanted from Dani Wyatt. This is my favorite book in the series—even topping my former favorite, Step-Hero. I was simply fascinated by Ramses and his all-consuming obsession with his former ward. Fans of Dani Wyatt, Jessa Kane, and Alexa Riley will be pleased with this book. Step-Crush can be read as a standalone because the stories are not interconnected with each other. I'm excited to see what the author has in store next because this one captured what I loved most about her stories and characters—the crazier, the better. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a short and smutty read featuring an older hero who is completely obsessed with his little lamb, going so far as to kidnap and wed her in the process.

Step-Sinner by Dani Wyatt

Step-Sinner (Wanting What's Wrong #8)Dani Wyatt's latest release features all of the tropes that you love and know about her writing—an age-gap forbidden romance between an obsessive and unhinged MMC and his curvy but bratty FMC. Not only is Martin/Cole a priest but he was also Kitty's step-brother as well. While I enjoyed Step-Sinner, there were parts of it that frustrated me. I did not care for the religious aspect of the book and I felt like too much time was spent on Martin going back and forth between his vows to the church instead of pursuing and reassuring Kitty that she meant more to him. On the other hand, Kitty's fake brat personality and defiance was also exasperating at times because she mostly did it just to get a reaction out of Martin. The characters eventually did get it together and finally consummated their relationship.
"I'm going to be your god. Your lover. Your Daddy. Your biggest fan and your greatest protector."
In the end, this was another satisfying read from Dani Wyatt but it personally wasn't my favorite because of the miscommunication and immaturity of the heroine. Kitty's character was cute at first but she grated on my nerves with her quips and jealousy over other potential woman who might have been with Martin previously. Thankfully for her, there weren't any. Nevertheless, we did get a HEA for these two and I was happy with the resolution at the end. This book had many tropes including step-siblings, age-gap, student/teacher, MMC was a priest, and the D* kink. The spicy scenes we got were hot but it left me wanting more. It feels like they are getting shorter and more non-descriptive. Hopefully the author will write more spicy scenes that are longer with more dirty talk in her next book!

STEP-SAVAGE by Dani Wyatt

STEP-SAVAGE: A Hockey Hunk Insta-Love Secret Baby Romance (Wanting What's Wrong)STEP-SAVAGE might be my favorite book in the Wanting What's Wrong series by Dani Wyatt, which can all be read as a standalone. James and Nancy's relationship was incredibly sexy and forbidden—they captivated my attention from start to finish. I found Nancy to be a relatable character and I liked that she was sensible and independent if a little naive. She was placed in a situation not of her own making and came out of it still in tact. I was confused in the beginning but it didn't take long for me to realize that Nancy was a victim of her best friend's machinations. I don't think Mason ever meant to let things get that far but he did keep her in the dark—which ultimately led to his arrest. We also learn that Nancy became pregnant because she had been surrogating for Mason. It was an interesting twist to an otherwise "normal" story because she ends up meeting her new step-brother the same day. James might be the author's most charming and unhinged hero yet because of the steps he took to possess Nancy. It was entertaining to watch him spiral even further and become obsessed the more time he spent with her
“All I can think about is her. I want to see her. I need to see her.”
In the end, I enjoyed this book so much because it was a forbidden romance that had all the tropes I loved. James and Nancy were likable characters and I found myself invested in their story. Even though James made some rather questionable decisions—basically stalking Nancy by keeping a tracker on her and installing cameras in their parents' home to watch her, he did it for her safety and his own state of mind instead of a desire to control her. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a quick and spicy palate cleanser. Of course, the smut scenes between James and Nancy were my favorite. The love scenes and dirty talk were on point as always. If you are looking for a taboo/forbidden romance with a possessive and unhinged hero who will do anything for his sweet and curvy heroine, you won't be disappointed by this one.

Abandoned on his Mountain by Dani Wyatt

Abandoned on his Mountain (Palate Teasers #2)Abandoned on his Mountain might be my favorite book in the Palate Teasers series by Dani Wyatt, which can all be read as a standalone. Marin and Davis were well-rounded characters and they had a sense a humor to them that I thought was completely relatable. In addition to their interesting quirks and secrets, these two had incredible sexual chemistry with each other. I was surprised by their first meeting and how quickly it derailed into a passionate scene that left both characters addicted and breathless. It was love at first sight for Davis and he fell hard for Marin the moment he set his eyes on her. I thought the setup was quite interesting because Marin came from a highly religious family and because she was born out of wedlock, her grandfather raised her as the embodiment of sin. His attempt at abandoning her at Carson Mountain to humble her would lay the foundations to Marin meeting her savior and love of her life.
"I know I want this. Him. And what his dark and dangerous self promises to give me."
In the end, this was such an enjoyable and steamy read between two likeable characters that were always meant for each other. Davis was a good man who would do anything to protect his loved ones. I was completely charmed by his younger brother, Stevie, and his relationship with Davis and Marin. Although Davis kept secrets from Marin, he was afraid that she would run away from him after finding out the truth. Never did he think that she would not only accept him but come to understand the man he always tried to be. Overall, this was such a charming love story and I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a quick read with engaging characters and lots of spice.

Let's Play Pretend by Dani Wyatt

Let's Play PretendDani Wyatt makes a return with a brand new palate teaser and story featuring a super steamy and forbidden age gap romance between two unexpected people. Let's Play Pretend is Hannah and Dietrich's story and if the significant age gap between them might bother you, I would not recommend this book. I didn't mind it because I was more interested in seeing how unhinged and possessive Dietrich was going to get once he had Hannah in his hands and the author did not disappoint. Their romance was such a whirlwind and despite coming from two different worlds, Dietrich knew he was going to keep Hannah the moment he set eyes on her. The premise of their relationship was interesting because Dietrich was looking to hire someone to be his daughter for one of his high stakes scams. I wouldn't consider Dietrich a good man but he did have some morals. Hannah gets caught up in the mix as a result of her deadbeat dad and fake uncle, which ultimately led her to agree to Dietrich's proposal.
“I’ve never thought of forever with anyone before, but without you in my life, I don’t want another day.”
In the end, I appreciated this book for what it was—an incredibly spicy and smutty story with a rather engaging plot and interesting characters. I was so happy to hear that this book was much longer than her usual stories because of potentially more sexy scenes between the characters and it provided more nuanced to the characters compared to the author's other works. One of my favorite scenes involved a window because I didn't expect that to happen at all. Although Hannah was pretending to be Dietrich's daughter, it didn't take long for him to want more from her and she was happy to explore her sexuality with him. Fans of Dani Wyatt and Alexa Riley will enjoy this book, so I highly recommend it to readers who are looking for a quick and kinky smut-driven story with the age-gap and dd/lg tropes.

Step-Farmer by Dani Wyatt

Step-FarmerDani Wyatt's latest release, Step-Farmer, is an age-gap and forbidden romance that continues the theme of the Wanting What's Wrong series. Eli and Ruby have a pseudo uncle/father figure type of relationship even though they are not related to each other by blood. However, there is no denying that he did raise her into adulthood and their relationship is not "right" by traditional standards. The author does introduce a new element to her books that will surprise and delight many readers. Despite their age-gap, Eli and Ruby's relationship worked for me because he had been in love with her for years. There was a point in their relationship that changed from something that was familial to an increasingly dark and sinful desire. As always, Dani Wyatt excels at the rising sexual tension and dirty talk between her characters. Although I didn't really care for the Marcy and David sub-plot, I did enjoy seeing Eli assert his authority over those teenagers when push came to shove. What I cared more for was the blooming relationship between our main couple and the author surely delivered. It was wicked and super steamy—everything you'd want in a short erotic romance.
"I have lived according to my own set of rules, why should that stop when it comes to Ruby? My most precious possession."
In the end, I really enjoyed Eli and Ruby's story and look forward to whatever Dani Wyatt has in stores for her readers next. If I could summarize this book in three words, it would be "sweet and dirty." All Eli ever wanted for Ruby was her happiness and he absolutely succeeded in taking care of all her needs. In addition to having a neglectful and self-absorbed father, Eli was the only male figure in her life and he eventually became everything she wanted for herself. I highly recommend this book and series to those who like the age-gap and forbidden romance tropes. Fans of Dani Wyatt will enjoy this immensely as it features a possessive and obsessive hero who will do anything for his sweet and innocent heroine. The book does end with a cute and sexy epilogue between Eli and Ruby.

Step-Boss by Dani Wyatt

Step-Boss (Wanting What's Wrong)I have been a fan of Dani Wyatt ever since I was first introduced to her style of writing way back then and she continues to impress with her latest release. Wanting What's Wrong is a series of standalone titles and Step-Boss is her latest release, which focuses on another forbidden age-gap romance between an obsessive and possessive guardian and his innocent ward. Dani continues to excel at her tropes and the dirty talk between Cade and Lennie was incredibly hot and sexy. Their relationship is complicated because even though he was considered her "step-father," it was always by name. Lennie's mother and Cade had a marriage bound by a contract. They had no relationship whatsoever and were more like friends than lovers. However, her sudden death when Lennie was sixteen years old suddenly thrusted Cade to become her sole guardian. Three years later, Lennie is trying to work as an agent at Cade's company and this is where the story begins.
"You're safe with me. Love isn't wrong baby. And I love you. Forever. In ways you're just beginning to understand."
In the end, I enjoyed this book—especially the hot and intense relationship between Cade and Lennie. I liked that they had eyes for each other since the beginning but never acted on it until she was of appropriate age. He was her guardian and protector but also more. There was a part in the book that was slightly weird and it had to do with Cade's foot but we're just going to ignore that LOL. Overall, the smut and dirty talk was fantastic as always. I wish we had more of that but since this was quick read, I'll take what we can get. Fans of Dani Wyatt will enjoy this story because it features an OTT and dominant hero who is extremely possessive about his innocent and sweet heroine. If you're looking for something quick, sweet, and smutty, you won't be disappointed with Cade and Lennie's story.

Step-Baller by Dani Wyatt

Step-Baller (Wanting What's Wrong)In her third installment in the Wanting What's Wrong series, Dani Wyatt continues the step-sibling and forbidden romance trope that she started in Step-Hero with Step-Baller. Mina and Jackson's story was full of steam, dirty talk, and a taboo love that was worth fighting for. Jackson has been in love with Mina for a long time and similarly, Mina's feelings for her step-brother also change as they grew older. This might be my second favorite after Trent and Kat because despite this book being smut, there was actual progression and drama between the characters. Mina dreams of becoming a fashion designer and the designs that she entered in a contest has offered her a place in New York. The only problem is how to get there. Her attempt at asking the local rich kids at her school ends in failure but Jackson unexpectedly appears and we're provided a much closer look into their relationship and the sinful desires that he has for her.
"No matter what, remember I'm the one that loves you. I'm the only one you'll ever love, too.
What they both didn't expect was for her to lose her memories. The amnesia was certainly a surprising turn of events and Jackson had no qualms taking advantage of it. While it was wrong of him to do so, he was willing to risk everything for Mina's love. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I liked seeing Mina's "other" side because all of the feelings that she previously repressed for Jackson as his step-sister were unleashed. Even when Mina regained her memories in the end, they were both devoted and in love with each other. Fans of Dani Wyatt will not be disappointed by her sex scenes because they were incredibly spicy and filthy. I highly recommend this book to those who like taboo and forbidden romance between step-siblings with an intense and possessive hero who will stop at nothing to claim his sweet but feisty heroine.

Step-Bully by Dani Wyatt

Step-Bully (Wanting What's Wrong #2)Dani Wyatt returns with Step-Bully, a brand new book in the Wanting What's Wrong series that specifically focuses on the forbidden romance trope and plenty of spicy moments between her characters. Scotch and Lula's story did not disappoint and fans of the author will be pleased to know that it features everything you know and love about her writing—hot and steamy moments, love/lust at first sight, a possessive hero who falls obsessively in love with his innocent heroine, angst and drama, and a forbidden romance between step-siblings. However, I do want to note that Lula and Scotch were only step-siblings for a few days and did not know each other at first. Unfortunately for Scotch, he fell head over heels in lust/love with Lula the instant he set his eyes on her.
"I don't think she understands the lengths I will go to protect her and keep her bound to me forever."
While I do have to admit that the story was somewhat lacking compared to Step-Hero, I did really enjoy it nonetheless. The harassment/bully situation from Scotch was unexpected and I did not expect Larry, Lula's new and unpleasant step-father, to have a role in it as well. What made me forgive Scotch more easily was that he didn't know Lula was related to the scrapyard he was trying to run out of business. Although I felt like Lula should not have forgiven him so easily, Scotch did make up for it in the end and was able to resolve the issue by running his father out of city for good. Looking forward to James' book! In the end, I recommend this book to those who loves the forbidden romance trope with a hero who never wanted love but falls obsessively in love with his innocent and feisty heroine.

Step-Hero by Dani Wyatt

Step-HeroDani Wyatt returns with a brand new story called Step-Hero, a forbidden romance between step-siblings in the Wanting What's Wrong series and it was incredibly dirty and steamy. Trent and Kat had so much sexual tension and chemistry. While their romance and entanglement with each other was the main focal point of the story, I really liked that there was an additional suspenseful element to it as well with Kat's stalker. The book felt longer, which I appreciated because it allowed for some additional character development for Trent and Kat. Despite their status as "siblings," they were anything but that. Trent and Kat have had feelings for each other but they never acted on it—until he eventually returned from deployment two years later. All bets were off once he reunited with her because she was simply his.
"I would do anything for him. I would live for him. I would die for him. Every breath, every thought, will always belong to him."
Dani simply excels at writing forbidden and taboo romance and this story was certainly no exception. I was shocked and blushed at some of the scenes Trent and Kat had because he was ready to give her everything—including himself and all the darkness inside of him. Their coupling was intense, erotic, and filthy. After coming back from deployment, Trent had become even more possessive, dominant, and obsessed with Kat. These two burned up the pages with their intensity and moments together. Although I had some frustrations with Kat because she was keeping some major secrets from Trent, specifically her stalker and the one behind her parents' death, I also sympathized with her struggle, guilt, and shame.
"I know one simple truth: All of her is mine. Every inch. Every breath. It all belongs to me."
In the end, this was a strong introduction to Dani Wyatt's brand new forbidden/taboo series and I absolutely can't wait to read Step-Bully next. I do want to note that this book does contain the DDLG kink so if you're not into that, I would avoid this book. However, if you do not care about this, you will be satisfied with Trent and Kat's book because it was fast-pace, romantic, suspenseful, and smutty. I highly recommend this book if you like the age-gap and taboo romance with a dominant and possessive hero who is completely devoted and in love with his sweet and equally devoted heroine.

Paying Her Dues by Dani Wyatt

Paying Her Dues (Price of Love)Paying Her Dues by Dani Wyatt features a taboo/forbidden romance between a young virtuoso and her father's best friend who happens to also be her best friend's father. I found that there was a lot more story in this one due to the history between Jess and Mike. Since she grew up with him, her feelings started to develop and change over the years. The same can be said for Mike who always thought of her as his best friend's daughter but then he eventually saw her in a new light once she was of legal age. It was still forbidden and they had many hurdles along the way including Sam, the best friend, and Jess' overbearing and nit-picky mother Janet. Once their feelings were finally realized, all bets were off and Mike was determined to make Jess his.
"He has always been my anchor. My sane place, my safe place, my shelter from my crazy family. My safety and my strength."
In the end, I enjoyed this quick, spicy, and forbidden romance between two individuals who were always meant to be with each other. Jess did not have a hard life but she had an overprotective mother who sought to control her way of life and well-being. The only healthy relationship she had was with her best friend, Sam, who was Mike's son. It was certainly interesting to see how Sam came to terms with having Jess as his "step-mom." As for the love scenes, Dani Wyatt did not disappoint. It was incredibly erotic, sexy, forbidden, and I wanted more. This book can be read as a standalone and you do not need to read previous books in the series because they're not connected.

Three Strikes by Dani Wyatt

THREE STRIKES (Meant to Be #3)Three Strikes is the latest installment in the Meant to Be series by Dani Wyatt and it features Cyrus, the darker and more aloof sibling between Tor and Sophia. In many ways though, he does me of Tor—especially when it comes to his obsessive tendencies and inability to take no for an answer. He was completely obsessed with just a single glance of Anna and wanted her to be his forever. As always, the sex scenes were incredibly erotic and dirty. I thought Tor and Chance was intense but Cyrus was adamant about making Anna his no matter what, even when she was arranged to be married to someone else because of her father's machinations.
"You were made for me, you know that don't you? Made. For. Me."
In the end, I thoroughly enjoyed this quick and spicy read of a much older hero and his heroine. Cyrus was surprisingly much darker than Tor because he sometimes dabbled in the illegal side of the spectrum. Anna wanted out of that life because her family was also in the same circles as Cyrus but meeting him changed everything for her. Despite being forced into an arranged marriage with a stranger who was out to kill her family, I loved how Anna wanted to give the one thing that was sacred of hers to Cyrus—her first time—before living a life without him. Thankfully, a happy ending awaits these two.

If you're into the age gap kink, you won't be disappointed by some of the dirty talk in this book because Cyrus thought of Anna as his precious little one since the very beginning.

One Chance by Dani Wyatt

ONE CHANCE (Meant to Be #2)Dani Wyatt continues the Meant To Be series by focusing on Sophia—Tor and Cyrus' spitfire of a sister who happens to be a workaholic chef. This book can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading Tor and Natalie's book, Two Wrongs, because their relationship was referenced and I also loved that one. Sophia and Chance's story was similarly hot and dirty, which I really enjoyed as well. Their chemistry was immediate and it certainly had that signature love/lust at first sight between the two that Dani Wyatt usually writes in her books. Chance took one look at Sophia and knew that she was it for him.
"I think I've found the bad boy to make all my dirty dreams come true."
The story begins with Tor and Natalie taking Sophia to the airport for her yearly and desperately needed vacation trip. Despite her apprehension due to her workaholic nature, Sophia ends up going to this trip and ends up meeting Chance there. If I were to describe her personality, Sophia is witty, snarky, confident, defiant, and trusting. Chance was an interesting character and I had a difficult time understanding him at first because of his actions. However, there is no denying the fact that he fell hard for Sophia and wanted to keep her no matter what. Chance was mysterious, dominant, possessive, and obsessive. He wanted Sophia and did whatever it took to keep her.
"She's all the dreams I never dared to dream. All the hopes I never dared to hope."
As always, Dani Wyatt writes some of the steamiest and erotic scenes—these two burned up the pages with their first time together! I thought it was super hilarious that Tor and Cyrus were super overprotective of Sophia that she had to yell at them for almost ruining everything for her. I absolutely can't wait to read Cyrus' book—the "darker" brother and "black sheep" of the family. If you're looking for a quick and smutty summer read, you won't be disappointed with Sophia and Chance's story!

Two Wrongs by Dani Wyatt

TWO WRONGS (Meant To Be #1)Two Wrongs is Dani Wyatt's latest book and the first in a brand new series called Meant To Be and it certainly has me excited to read more. I was completely charmed by Natalie and Tor's whirlwind of a romance because it had all the makings that I loved most about this author's writing—an over-the-top obsessive hero who simply can't live without his sassy and adorable heroine. This is classic Dani Wyatt at her best with a whole lot of spice and dirty talk. What made the book special to me was the sexy and developing relationship between Tor and Natalie as it went from 0 to 180. It made me want more. I was completely taken and tickled by Tor's bossy attitude and how quickly he changed his mind from wanting nothing to do with romance and relationships to being in love at first sight with Natalie.
"I have been insane from the moment I set eyes on you."
Tor is a divorce attorney with major anger issues. In addition, his family has set him up with a woman and he is not pleased. As he goes on this unnecessary date, he comes face to face with Natalie and this throws his life into upheaval. On the other hand, Natalie is an adorable and clumsy young woman who has been on many terrible dates. While searching for her missing wallet, she meets the eyes of none other than Tor and this ultimately sealed her fate. Tor ends up "saving" Natalie from her awful date and what ensues is an incredibly sexy but hilarious courtship between the two as he claims her. There is no denying the fact that Natalie and Tor had incredible chemistry with each other. She was sassy and had no qualms talking back to him, which only made him want her more.
"He's every fantasy I never realized I had and I want to make them all come true with him."
In the end, this was a fantastic introduction to a new series and I absolutely can't wait to read more. Tor's tough and feisty sister, Sophia, is up next and it looks like she will have her hands full with an obsessive and rough security officer during her getaway vacation. If you're looking for something super quick, smutty, full of sugary sweetness, and a whole lot of dirty talk, you won't be disappointed with Natalie and Tor's story.

Buying Her Time by Dani Wyatt

Buying Her Time (Price of Love)Dani Wyatt's latest book, Buying Her Time, is her first MFM and it was incredibly dirty, over-the-top taboo, and super steamy. I enjoyed my time reading Isabel, Flint, and Hale's story even though I typically don't read menage. This father-son duo was ready to fight each other for Isabel's attention, body, and heart but she wasn't having it—in fact, she wanted them both. It's absolutely ridiculous and totally out of the realm of reality but I still enjoyed this forbidden and kinky story nevertheless. If you want to read something mindless but sexy, this will certainly fill that void.
"Nothing would come between us; neither one of us would give her up."
The story begins with Isabel who is currently working an escort type job to support her studies in school. Through working at this company, she meets Hale and Flint who are both vying for her time without knowing that fact. Things eventually come to a head when Hale takes Isabel to an event and Flint happens to be there. Of course, the twist in this story is that they are both father and son. This reveal shocks Isabel and sends her running away. Flint and Hale work to resolve their differences and implement their plan to possess Isabel together.
"He is brutal, and cruel, and intense. But he is also my protector. As they both are."
As always, the sex was scorching hot and Dani Wyatt certainly delivers on that front. I couldn't help but laugh out loud when Flint and Hale played "Rock Paper Scissors" over her. I found that incredibly endearing and funny. I am a huge fan of this author's writing and she always excels when venturing into DD/Lg and the forbidden. This book was no exception and absolutely checked all of my boxes when I wanted to read a quick and smut-filled story. I highly recommend this book if you like the age-gap and taboo romance with two dominant and possessive heroes who are head over heels in love with their sex kitten heroine.

HEIR by Dani Wyatt and Nikolai Andrew

HEIR (Royally Hot Book 4)HEIR by Dani Wyatt and Nikolai Andrew was completely unexpected and incredibly hot. It had an engaging plot and romance between its two main characters, Vasile and Valeria. I was invested in their relationship since the beginning and the way it played out between them left me very satisfied by the end. Not only does this book features several tropes including "enemies to lovers" and "love at first sight" but there is also an arranged marriage between Valeria and Vasile's brother, Petre. Valeria is a princess in name only but due to her father's gambling addiction, she has been pawned off to Vasile's family as payment. What she never expected was to be immediately attracted to her intended's brother and to experience unexpected feelings for him. Vasile similarly falls head over heels in lust/love for Valeria and is unable to keep away. There was a forbidden aspect to their relationship, which made for a tense and exciting read.

Petre is not a good man and Valeria is unwilling to marry him because of his cruel and abhorrent nature of beating women. In order to run away from her fate, Valeria vows to seduce the older brother—Vasile, to escape from her predicament. However, not all goes as planned because Vasile wants to claim her completely as his. I really enjoyed this book and its two main characters. Vasile was a contradiction because he was a good man and but also dominant when it came to dealing with Valeria. I was surprised by him but his domineering nature made for some rather titillating moments between he and Valeria. I also liked Valeria because she made the best of her situation but had a mind of her own and spitfire personality. In the end, I thought Vasile and Valeria were a great match and I loved their sexy moments together. I highly recommend this!

Earning Her Keep by Dani Wyatt

Earning Her Keep (Price of Love)Dani Wyatt's latest book, Earning Her Keep, had everything I wanted in a short, spicy, and slightly forbidden love story—a possessive and dominant hero who is obsessed and stalks his sweet but dirty heroine. Similar to the theme in Obsession, Dane and Primrose have an interesting relationship that can be defined as hate and love. Dane is madly obsessed with Primrose and cannot stop thinking about her; as a result, he hates her for interrupting his daily routine and rules. In comparison, Primrose is a runaway who inadvertently steals another person's identity to work in Dane's household. She is similarly attracted and obsessed with Dane, who is always on the back of her mind.
"She's the opposite of my order and rules. She's free and pure and… true. Everything I want. Everything I don't deserve."
The power dynamic between these two was also a heady thing to witness because Dane is illusive, mysterious, but safe to Primrose. II was holding my breath for the moment their attraction to each other finally came to a head and I was certainly not disappointed by the outcome at all. The chemistry between Dane and Primrose was simply magnetic and addictive to read. I also love the forbidden and taboo aspect of it as well because Primrose was young and innocent whereas Dane was older and hardened by life. Both were hiding secrets—one that they surprisingly had in common.
"I have never known hunger, need, or desire the way I know it for her.""
In the end, I thoroughly enjoyed this book because Dane and Primrose's relationship was incredibly dirty and sexy. In many ways, Dane loves watching Primrose as much as she loves submitting to him. As a huge fan of Dani Wyatt's writing, this might be my favorite of her more recent works. The teasers we got leading up to this book's release were extraordinarily hot and the subsequent scenes we got… wow. I highly recommend this book to those who like the forbidden romance and boss/employee relationship tropes with a domineering, masculine, and wealthy hero with a heroine who falls in love with her older and handsome employer.

Obsession by Dani Wyatt and Nikolai Andrew

Obsession (Royally Hot #3)Obsession by Dani Wyatt and Nikolai Andrew is the third book in the Royally Hot series and can be read as a standalone since the characters have no connection to the other stories released thus far. I really enjoyed the author's take on erotic historical romance because I was quite invested in the plot, character development, and romance. Anika and Maksim are "step-siblings" but the reality is that they are not. Her mother married his uncle so there is some connection or relation between them. Anika does call Maksim her "brother" and he his "sister" so there is that taboo/forbidden element to the story. The attraction and sexual chemistry between these two was always present and palpable throughout the book. Even though Maksim treated Anika harshly and cruelly in front of others, he was also in love with her at the same time. Similarly, Anika was intensely attracted to Maksim but hated him because of his disdain towards her. The theme of love and hate being two sides of the same coin can be applied to their relationship.
"I hated her as much as I loved her. She stripped me of all my control, of all my sanity."
In addition to the romance, the plot played a significant role in the development of their relationship as Anika's mother and Maksim's uncle sought to control and marry her off to a neighboring country with Maksim going crazy because of it. All this time, he was treating her coldly and cruelly to keep her safe but it was all in vain. With this in mind, Maksim decides to claim Anika as his. At the same time, Anika is resolved to escape her predicament no matter the cost. The push and pull between Maksim and Anika had to be my favorite aspect of this book. When they finally decided to consummate their relationship, it was dirty, erotic, and incredibly sexy. Maksim had a darker side to him and he was ready to unleash it on Anika.
"I feared him. I loved him. I despised him. I needed him."
In the end, I really enjoyed this book and am now curious about the other books in this series. This was previously published as Royal Obsession and although I remember reading that book, it seems like this re-release has added additional story content and an epilogue—which I really enjoyed and appreciated. If you are looking for a spicy historical romance with a dirty talking hero who is obsessed with his heroine, I highly recommend this book. The love and hate they had for each other made for some sizzling scenes as they came to terms with their feelings for one another.

Gilded Cage by Dani Wyatt

Gilded CageGilded Cage is Dani Wyatt's take on high fantasy and erotic romance and it was incredibly steamy, angsty, and romantic. Calliope and Rian met and fell in love with each other but outside forces wanted to keep them apart. As a result, a curse was placed on them—forcing them to forever be separate and apart. I really enjoyed this aspect of the book because it adds further tension and drama to their relationship as they pine for each other. Like most of Dani Wyatt's books, the sex and chemistry between Calliope and Rian simply burned up the pages. I don't typically read interspecies relationships but I thought this was done incredibly well because I didn't mind the fact that Rian was part orc most of the time because of the curse. It made for some incredibly sexy scenes, especially when they were finally reunited.
“You are greedy for me, dirty songbird. It only makes me love you more, the way you want me as I want you.”
In the end, I simply adored this book because it was short, sweet, and dirty. Rian absolutely loves Calliope and if you're into stories where the hero is completely obsessed with his heroine, I highly recommend this book and the author's other stories because you will not be disappointed. I loved how there was also a "Beauty and the Beast" vibe to this story because Rian is cursed and forced to assume the appearance of an orc. In addition, the threat of war between Calliope and Rian's kingdoms was always present. The curse simply exacerbated it. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this book to those who love the love at first sight and 'enemies' to lovers tropes with a hero and heroine who were simply fated to be with each other.
