London Dynasty by Geneva Lee

London DynastyLondon Dynasty by Geneva Lee is the first book in a trilogy and it was very sexy, captivating, and shocking. The story seems simple at first: A young woman who looks exactly like a missing heiress is hired to be her replacement. However, it gets incredibly complex when feelings are involved and she is forced to seduce the heiress' fiancé. Things get even more complicated when said fiancé has an identical twin brother. The plot is dramatic but it kept me interested and invested. The love scenes were also sensual and erotic and the tension was always palpable between Kate and Spencer as well as Kate and Holden.
"Someday we would set each other free. It was a lie. It was the truth. It was everything."
Kate is an orphan who has been struggling her entire life to make ends meet. The book picks up when one of the bar's patrons mistakenly recognizes her as someone else. He rudely takes a picture of her and Kate is shaken by this event. The next day, an older man shows up to her apartment and makes a proposition she cannot ignore: Pretend to his missing daughter for a year in exchange for 10 million pounds. Kate is a likeable heroine because she is conscious of her actions as well as the rippling effects it could cause to Kerrigan and others. As always, the "romance" was my favorite part of this book. It shocked me because Kate not only gets introduced to Spencer but his twin brother Holden as well. Like Kate, I am personally torn between the two. What makes it even more difficult is that Spencer and Holden are both very different despite looking the exact same.
"That's the thing about lies. Sometimes they get mixed up with the truth."
In the end, I absolutely can't wait to read Cruel Dynasty because the book ends in a shocking cliffhanger between Kate, Holden, and Spencer. There are still so many secrets that need to be uncovered and I have so many questions: Where is Kerrigan? What is Spencer hiding? What does Holden know? I highly recommend this book to those who love the arranged marriage trope with a twist because it has a heroine who is a doppelganger, twins, and two different potential romances. I don't know what will happen next but I am looking forward to it!
