"I wasn't used to men being so… forward. Intense. Single-minded about… me. It was bewildering."And of course, the author pulls a "gotcha" moment when Nathan and Madison meet again after their one night stand as work acquaintances. For context, Nathan's image is in tatters and he needs help from the media to portray him in a better light. Madison has been assigned as the journalist in charge of covering him. What makes this interesting is that it's all entirely coincidental. They initially met at a wedding and felt sexually attracted each other enough to have sex. After their second meeting, both try to ignore their growing feelings. There's also a side plot about Nathan's friend who is having marital issues with her husband. I wasn't interested in it at first but it turns out that Audrey might end up with Jacob, Nathan's older brother.
"She was the spark to my gasoline… It was if we were two halves of the same person."In the end, Nathan and Madison's story was a rather straightforward, sweet, and sexy contemporary romance between two unlikely individuals. Neither of them were in the market for a relationship and never saw this coming. Nathan's family was incredibly funny and I loved seeing them together. It looks like Louise Bay will be writing stories about the brothers as well as Gretel, Nathan's PR assistant. If you are looking for work office romance with an opposites attract trope and two very likeable characters, I highly recommend this book!
